I would like to welcome students, staff, parents and visitors to our school.
Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School was established by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart as a parish primary Catholic school in 1962. Since that date the school has served the educational needs of the children of Pagewood parish and assisted parents in the education of their children in the Catholic faith.
Today Our Lady of the Annunciation is a well-equipped single-streamed primary school offering high quality educational programs to girls and boys from Kindergarten to Year 6.
At OLA we promote the integration of Faith, Life, Culture and Learning. This is an ongoing process in which all members of the community are engaged when possible. Of particular importance is the place of parents, who are encouraged to continue an active role in each child's learning. Mutual respect and co-operation between home and school are recognised as being essential.
Our school curriculum places a great deal of emphasis on Literacy (reading, writing, listening and speaking), Numeracy and Religious Education. We offer specialist programs in English as a Second Language, Reading Recovery, Early Literacy and Special Education to assist all students to reach their full potential. The specific needs of the Early Learner are addressed through contemporary pedagogy and innovative classroom practices.
The school has a well developed Information Communication Technology (ICT) program and offers students personalised learning opportunities through the use of mobile devices in all classrooms. We offer a comprehensive sports program with opportunities for students to compete at Regional, Diocesan and State levels.
Our teachers are highly competent, skilled educators who are committed to developing high quality programs, that challenge all students. They work their duties in strong partnership with parents, the parish and the wider community.
