Is it true that a new Catholic primary school has opened in North Strathfield?

Yes! This new school is the Archdiocese of Sydney’s 150th school! The school is called Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) Catholic Primary School North Strathfield and is located next to MacDonald College, at 1A Hamilton Street East, North Strathfield. In 2018 we welcome students in K-5.

How many students will be enrolled at the school?

The school will create up to 450 new places. The new school is part of an ongoing response to accommodate the increasing number of families in the area who are seeking a Catholic education for their children. Enrolments were initially for K-2 students for 2015. We are now accepting expressions of interest for enrolment K-6 for 2019.

Where will the students be drawn from?

The main areas where students will be drawn include west of the North Strathfield railway line, Sydney Olympic Park as far as Hill Road, Breakers Bay and Wentworth Point.

How do I enrol my child at OLA North Strathfield?

Parents wishing to apply to enrol their child at OLA North Strathfield or are looking for more information about the school should register their interest by using the 'Contact Us' form. Once registered we will contact you.

An enrolment package, containing all the relevant information required including Enrolment Policy and fees, will be sent to you. 

When do I enrol my child at OLA North Strathfield?

The main enrolment period for Kindergarten is during the months of March and April the year prior to commencing.

What documents do I need with my child’s enrolment application?

  • passport-size photo of your child
  • Birth certificate
  • Baptism certificate
  • Immunisation Certificate
  • a copy of their passport and visa is required if a student is born overseas and not an Australian Citizen
  • proof of Australian Citizenship is required if a student is born in Australia but parents were born overseas
  • relevant medical and/or Special Needs information including clinical/education assessment/s (if applicable)
  • court or custodial orders (if applicable).

What happens once my child’s enrolment application has been lodged?

The School Support Officer will contact you to arrange an interview with the Principal. There is a non refundable enrolment application fee of $100 to be paid when lodging your application forms.

Will there be out-of-hours school care available?

We do not expect to be able to provide out-of-hours school care in the school’s first year. There is a significant number of before-and-after-school providers within proximity to the school.
