As a Catholic school, we believe that each child's faith development is integral to their whole life and lived out every day. OLA is a place of prayer and celebration. Students participate in Masses celebrated each term at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church. Special feast days and other significant events are also celebrated through prayer and liturgies at our school. The School shares a close liaison with the Parish community of Our lady of the Assumption Homebush. Our school proclaims and witnesses to Jesus Christ by encouraging all within the school and parish community to grow in accordance with Christ's teachings, values attitudes and behaviours.

The parish priest, in collaboration with the school principal, staff and parents is responsible for the faith development of the students of the

primary school - their religious education, their preparation for and reception of the sacraments and their initiation into the liturgical life of the Church.

There are 7 Key Learning Areas taught at OLA. Religious Education is an integral part of the K-6 curriculum and is taught throughout the school, using the Religious Education Curriculum for the schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney.

The School implements the NSW Board of Studies Syllabus documents for the other 6 Key Learning Areas of:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Human Society and Its Environment
  • Science and Technology
  • Creative Arts
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education

Situated in the Municipality of Canada Bay, the School is adjacent to Bicentennial Park, and Sydney Olympic Park precinct. In our foundation year we have moved into our brand new learning space on the ground level of the existing building.
