Group 1 departed Sydney early on Friday 21st September 2012.

We will spend time in Siem Reap learning about the history of Cambodia by visiting the Angkor Archaeological Park and learning about Cambodian culture, customs and cuisine. We will also visit an orphanage and spend a day experiencing life as a poor Cambodian villager.

The second part of our trip will be spent in Phnom Penh where the majority of our time will be spent in the communities of Phoum Boun, Ark Piwat Mean Chey, Krang Angkrang II, Kork Khleung I and Kork Khleung II. In these communities we will engage in community talks (dialogue with the locals), local activities such as hammock making and cooking, Khmer lessons and most importantly, teaching English to primary students in CVCD (Cambodian Volunteers for Community Development) schools. We will spend two nights living in the community.

Group 1 will arrive back in Sydney on the morning of Thursday 4th October.
