Principal's Message

Welcome to Good Shepherd Primary School Hoxton Park.

Our school is a Catholic systemic school located in south western Sydney, serving the community of Hoxton Park, Hinchinbrook and Middleton Grange. We are a two stream co-educational primary school with a current enrolment of 430 students. Our school community includes families from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

Good Shepherd School is committed to the development of the whole child. In a spirit of partnership with parents and the parish of Good Shepherd, the school promotes the demonstration of Gospel values, pursues a high quality educational program and recognises the individuality of learners.

In the spirit of our school motto, 'Nurturing Disciples', we aim for students to know and love God in a caring and supportive environment. Our pastoral care programs focus on building relationships across the community and helping students to communicate openly, solve problem and become more resilient.

As a multicultural school, we place a strong emphasis on the teaching of literacy and numeracy, which is supported by a wide variety of contemporary technological resources. We encourage a healthy lifestyle through our physical education and health education programs. We have a dedicated, professional teaching team, support staff, and a supportive community who work collaboratively to ensure that each child receives the best educational program we can provide.

Welcome to our website.

God bless,

Helen Gardner

In The News

It has been a busy year so far for us here at Good Shepherd.

During Catholic Schools Week (9th-13th March) we held many activities including

Open classes
Guest Speaker
Cup Cake Day
Inaugural Whole School Cross Country

NAPLAN for Year's 3 and 5 and the Religious Education Test for Year 6 were completed and we are anxiously awaiting our results. Congratulations to the students in Years 3, 5 and 6 for completing the NAPLAN Test or the Religious Education Test.

Athletics Carnival. We were able to hold our carnival on the intended day this year! Rafter won a very close contest between the four Colour Houses. Well done! All students enjoyed our activities on the day and deserved the Long Weekend to rest.

Other sporting activities included Representative Sport Pathway (Soccer, Swimming, Cross Country, Touch Football, Basketball, Netball and Rugby League), Mark Taylor Cricket Shield, Soccer Gala Day and Police Oztag Gala Day.

Our Family Educator has been holding SPaR (Stop, Pray and Reflect), Little Shepherd's, Grade Family Masses on the weekend and Jump Up and Down for Kids. This has been an opportunity for parents to have a special prayer service, connect with other families and to raise awareness of refugee children.
