Principal's Message

Welcome to Good Shepherd Primary School Hoxton Park.

Our school is a Catholic systemic school located in south western Sydney, serving the community of Hoxton Park, Hinchinbrook and Middleton Grange. We are a two stream co-educational primary school with a current enrolment of 382 students. Our school community includes families from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

Good Shepherd School is committed to the development of the whole child. In a spirit of partnership with parents and the parish of Good Shepherd, the school promotes the demonstration of Gospel values, pursues a high quality educational program and recognises the individuality of learners.

In the spirit of our school motto, 'Nurturing Disciples', we aim for students to know and love God in a caring and supportive environment. Our pastoral care programs focus on building relationships across the community and helping students to communicate openly, solve problem and become more resilient.

As a multicultural school, we place a strong emphasis on the teaching of literacy and numeracy, which is supported by a wide variety of contemporary technological resources. We encourage a healthy lifestyle through our physical education and health education programs. We have a dedicated, professional teaching team, support staff, and a supportive community who work collaboratively to ensure that each child receives the best educational program we can provide.

Welcome to our website.

God bless,

Helen Gardner

In The News

The past year has been a busy one for us here at Good Shepherd.

We held our first School Disco over two sessions (K-2 and 3-6). The students really enjoyed the popular music, smoke, lasers and their glow sticks they could purchase. We thank all the Staff and parents for their help in organising and running the night as well as the students who were well behaved.

Family Educator has been holding Class SPaR (Stop, Pray and Reflect). This has been an opportunity for parents to have a special prayer service looking at showing gratitude for the things we have. It complemented our Gratitude Project that has been running over the year as well.

NAPLAN for Year's 3 and 5 and the Religious Education Test for Year 6 were completed with great results. Congratulations to the students in Years 3, 5 and 6 for completing the NAPLAN Test or the Religious Education Test.

Athletics Carnival. Whilst we had to go to our back-up day for our carnival last year, we were finally able to complete the full Athletics Program. This was the first time in three years we have been able to complete the day!

Mini Vinnies Sleepout. We had over 30 students attend the Mini Vinnies Sleepout towards the end of the Term 3. They were asked to bring new toiletries that could be donated to the Liverpool Night Patrol to support people in the local area who are experiencing hardship. The students were also involved in activities, listened to a guest speaker and had a sausage sizzle.
