Our school enjoys a strong, mutually supportive working relationship with the Christ the King Parish.

Our interaction with the parish includes:

  • Sacramental Programs for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation
  • Regular Reconciliation
  • Masses
  • Support for the local Parish St Vincent de Paul conference through our:
    • Winter appeal, in which students raise funds to purchase warm blankets
    • Christmas appeal, in which students assist in making hampers for the community
  • On the First Friday of every month our senior students walk to the Nursing Home with their teachers and Fr Macwan to entertain the residents and provide them with some company. At the conclusion of our visit we pray and Fr Macwan distributes the Eucharist to the residents.
  • One of the major social events of the year is the School and Parish Fete in which all of our CTK community come together to work, socialise, have fun and also raise some funds.

Christ the King Parish was established in 1955 when Fr Francis Corrigan was appointed as Parish Priest. In 1956 a church/school hall and presbytery were built. In 1957 the Sisters of St Joseph arrived and in 1958-1960 the school was built. In 1961 the convent was built. The present church was built in 1981 and the new school in 1986/87. In 1992 the Parish Centre was established.
