About Us

Our school aims to facilitate each child's learning and development in the context of a warm, Catholic environment. The children are provided with a supportive climate in which to grow as individuals and as members of the school community. The school is committed to providing quality teaching and learning opportunities. There is a strong commitment to respect and partnership between all members of the community.

Christ the King Catholic Primary Bass Hill is a co-educational Kindergarten to Year 6 School with a student population of approximately 200 students. Our students come from many different cultural and language backgrounds. The school was opened in 1957 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. We learn about and celebrate our Catholic faith, its values and beliefs, inspired by the charism of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.

Our Pastoral Care, Discipline and Anti-Bullying Policies all provide a commitment to the rights and responsibilities of students and teachers. Our Pastoral Care Policy is firmly embedded within the principles of Restorative Justice.

The School Wide Positive Behaviours for Learning (SBPL) Framework has been implemented in our school since 2016. The purpose of SPBL is to teach appropriate and positive behaviour, to create a climate of cooperation, academic excellence, respect and safety. SPBL is a whole school program which focuses on the expectations of:

  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
