About Us

Our school aims to facilitate each child's learning and development in the context of a warm, Catholic environment. The children are provided with a supportive climate in which to grow as individuals and as members of the school community. The school is committed to providing quality teaching and learning opportunities. There is a strong commitment to respect and partnership between all members of the community.

Christ the King Catholic Primary Bass Hill is a co-educational Kindergarten to Year 6 School with a student population of 205. Our students come from many different cultural and language backgrounds. Approximately 87 per cent of our students are from ESL backgrounds. The school was opened in 1957 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. We learn about and celebrate our Catholic faith, its values and beliefs, inspired by the charism of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.

Our Pastoral Care, Discipline and No-Bullying Policy all provide a commitment to the rights and responsibilities of students and teachers. Our Pastoral Care Policy is firmly embedded within the principles of Restorative Justice.

Christ the King is a dynamic professional and contemporary learning community that incorporates the use of innovative technologies to support and enhance curriculum. Our commitment to our students is seen through the provision of a differentiated curriculum, early identification and ongoing support of student’s academic needs (Special Needs, Enrichment, ESL, Inquiry Learning and Reading Recovery) all of which is delivered by a professional teaching team.

Our school is well equipped to meet the needs of the 21st century learner.
