Our school is a very caring and supportive community. We seek to encourage this by involving our students in outreach programs, such as helping to support the students and families at St John’s Catholic Primary School, Auburn. The students and families in the school actively support fundraising and social activities throughout the year to provide assistance to the students and families at St John’s, Auburn.

Each year our students look forward to visits with their friends from St John’s. in Term 3  students from St John's visit, our school and we go on an outing, such as a visit to Clifton Gardens Reserve which is located nearby. In Term 4, our students visit St John’s, and so relationships are fostered and maintained each year.

We are aware of the many charities who work to assist members of the community. Our families are keen to give back to the community and work in partnership with organisations such as the St Vincent de Paul Society and assist in raising money for the Charitable Works Fund and other charities.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School has close links with many of the local community organisations such as Mosman Council and Mosman Art Gallery. The involvement of members of the wider community supports many of our day-to-day and fund-raising activities.

From the parents

"As parents, we are thrilled with Blessed Sacrament for our daughter. To us it feels like we’re enjoying a rare privilege for our daughter to be part of a small school, where she can enjoy a nurturing, warm and friendly community.  We love that the children across the years know each other and mix on the playground The individual approach to learning at Blessed Sacrament is really important to us. Knowing that the teachers understand our daughter's strengths and are looking to challenge, extend and enrich her learning, gives us tremendous confidence.  But that’s only part of the story.
Catholic values permeate the daily experience at Blessed Sacrament. Through this, the children learn the importance of kindness, compassion and humility and it is evident in the warmth and support the children show each other. Our daughter has so many opportunities at Blessed Sacrament and loves participating in liturgies, the chess club and robotics. But most importantly for us, she loves learning and going to school each day."

Blessed Sacrament Parish

The link between the school and Blessed Sacrament Parish is particularly strong. The parish is now part of the Parishes of Sydney Harbour North.

Every month (on the last Sunday of the month), students and their families come together to celebrate a School Family Mass at the 10.00am liturgy on Sunday. A morning tea usually follows the Mass and is a great opportunity for members of both the school and parish communities to come together and extend their friendships.

The school also celebrates an Opening School Mass, Mother’s Day and Fathers’ Day with liturgies in the Church, and all families in the parish are invited to attend.

Opportunities are also provided for liturgical celebrations at the school and in the Church.

Sacramental programs for Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Communion are run in conjunction with the Parish.

St John’s Catholic Primary School, Auburn – Partnership

As noted above we have a sister school at Auburn and as a school and parish community, we raise funds to support the students and families at St John’s.

Each year the P&F fundraising donates proceeds from an auction item to St John’s to assist in paying for the educational needs of the students and their families. The Blessed Sacrament Parish also supports this school initiative.
