A look back... and look ahead

As the field of education has undergone rapid and dramatic changes over the past few year, the Sussex-Wantage Regional School District has not only adapted, but is moving forward in implementing programs that will better prepare our students for college and careers in the 21st century.  Some of the changes that New Jersey educators have faced involve curriculum and assessment, such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and assessment (PARCC), while other changes relate to teacher and principal evaluations (AchieveNJ and Teachscape).  Most importantly, innovations in technology have transformed the way we implement lessons and engage students in meaningful, high-quality learning experiences (e.g., Chromebooks, GAFE, techbooks, IXL Math, etc).  To meet the challenges of the 21st century, we have launched numerous initiatives, which we have been building on each year.  The following pages provide a summary of these initiatives.
