Looking for a local Thanksgiving Day Run? The 4th Annual Twin Cities Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk event starts and finishes at the Dwight Pete Mitchell City Center Park in Benton Harbor, with refreshments, awards and random door prizes after the race.

Thank you to the Benton Harbor Public Library for opening their lobby on Thanksgiving morning for same day registration and packet pickup! The Benton Harbor Public Library is located on the corner of Wall and 5th Streets, across from the Benton Harbor Police Department.
Same day registration and packet pickup opens at 7:30 am with registration closing at 8:45 am. City Center Park is located just a block from the library. The 5K Run/ Walk begins at 9:00 am, heading south and west from the park to Riverview Drive.

This is a chip timed event. Overall male and female finishers in the run and walk divisions will receive individual awards. Medals go to top male and female age group finishers in the 5K run and walk.
Registration includes a short sleeve tshirt, with a long sleeve shirt option for an additional $5.

West Michigan Guardianship provides services to adult individuals who are disabled or incapacitated and unable to make informed decisions regarding their daily life choice. Team members advocate on behalf of clients to provide safe stable housing, establish and maintain financial security,  and assure medical care to improve and enrich the quality of life.  Clients may be suffering from dementia or have been victims of fraud, neglect or abuse.  They may also be developmentally disabled or mentally ill adults or any adult who is in a vulnerable or dangerous situation.

All West Michigan Guardianship case managers are certified by the National Guardianship Association, which requires passing an extensive examination that covers every aspect of Guardianship rules and regulations.  Staff members are highly trained and have wide-ranging experience working with diverse populations.

Services provided are based on individual needs and may include any of the following:

Budget Management - West Michigan Guardianship prepares budgets for individuals to help them live within their means

Power of Attorney - An individual may assign specific powers to West Michigan Guardianship

Representative Payee - West Michigan Guardianship may be given authority to receive and disburse Social Security or Veterans Administration funds on behalf of an individual when they have difficulty paying their bills in a timely and responsible manner

Conservator - A court appoints responsibility for management of an individual's assets to West Michigan Guardianship to protect, invest and disburse the individual's assets in a responsible manner

Guardianship - A court appoints West Michigan Guardianship to act on behalf of the individual and gives us legal authority in decision making for every permissible area of a client's life
