ABOUT ME:
I received my Ph.D in 1989 at the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Dennis DeTurck. I have been at Swarthmore since the fall of 1989 with time out for visiting positions at the Bunting Institute of Radcliffe College, Harvard University Department of Mathematics, the Institute For Advanced Study, Princeton, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, Berkeley, the Fields Institute, Toronto, and the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU. My area of specialization for my thesis was differential geometry and geometric analysis. My interests, since then, have broadened to include gauge theories, symplectic geometry, and contact geometry as well. My current research is in the area of generalized geometries; in particular, generalized contact structures.
