What Can I Do?‎ > ‎

Transportation

Avoid Car Idling
  • Turning off a car's engine can save the driver money, help us all to breathe easier, and save the air.  So the next time your parents are waiting in drive up line or anywhere that you know will be greater than a 30 second wait, remind them to turn off the car to decrease the harmful emissions which decrease air quality and contribute to climate change.
Drive Less
  • Carpool with others, maybe you will even foster a new friendship! Click this link to see if your school participates in a carpooling network;                                                       Way To Go School Pool
  • Go by foot
  • Ride your bike
  • Take the bus, find schedules on the following link;         RTD Local/Limited Bus Schedules

Blue Mountain Elementary's

PAW-Friday;

Students and staff are encouraged to “Pedal and Walk” to school on Fridays (every day is better!).  Students who participate in PAW-Friday are given a green sticker and are entered into a weekly drawing for special prizes. All students who participate are also entered into a drawing for a new bicycle at the end of the school year. The goal is to have limited car traffic in our parking lot every Friday! Bus students are encouraged to walk to their bus stop and then they walk around the campus when they arrive at school in order to earn their sticker/chance for the prize drawing.

Central Elementary Walk & Roll Thursdays;
Walk or ride your bike to school on Thursdays.
