Exterior Garbage Cans

The District is thrilled to announce a fantastic partnership that took place during the 2014-2015 school year.

The Career Development Center's Welding Shop, Energy & Sustainability Department, and Custodial Department teamed together to produce 44 exterior garbage cans!

The Welding Shop students built these sturdy, metal cans for use in our parking lots. They will serve to keep our sites clear of trash and will reduce unsightly litter that our custodians work hard to remove. The project is good for our facilities and the environment!

Thank you to Welding Shop teacher Bill Anthony and his amazing students for producing a beautiful end product.

Thank you to Richard Cook for his great work painting these cans, Mike Dolan & John Goddard for their very organized set-up and delivery, Tonya Johnson, Carlos Alvarez and Heather Rogers for help managing delivery, and Dara Ward for managing details and providing funds and to the following custodians for their support: Mitzi Young, Pete Smith, Andrew Barela, Cheryl Gass, John Tramp, Josef Davis, Ray Castanon, Vince Theriault, Bud Martin, Vi McHugh, David Marquez, Alan Rogers, Jeffrey Pfleiger, and Jeffrey Lund

The below schools received exterior garbage cans:
  • Lyons Middle Senior
  • Erie High
  • Frederick High
  • Longmont High
  • Mead High

  • Skyline High
  • Sunset Middle

Our vision is to continue this partnership for several years to come until all schools have sufficient exterior garbage cans for their continued use.
