Eco-Task Advisory Committee & Professional Study Team

Already, many of our teachers are taking action to safeguard people and our planet, ETAC is an opportunity to elevate their efforts by networking with like-minded teachers and staff and to receive resources and support. ETAC is a perfect opportunity to learn more and to contribute to ESP.

ETAC is comprised of teachers and staff who have the skills, interest, and/or passion to contribute to the vision and goals of the Energy & Sustainability Program (ESP). Members will brainstorm programs, activities and best practices. In the near term, ETAC will be integral to developing ESP’s mission statement and objectives. Over time, ETAC will serve to guide ESP in developing short, medium and long-term targets. Individually, members will act as spokespeople of their unique community while, collectively, the group will lead SVVSD as a leader in the green schools movement.

Professional Development Credit: Energy & Sustainability Project:
The spring of 2013, we successfully completed the first Professional Study Team model for ETAC participants. Teachers earned 1 semester hour of Professional Development credit. In order to qualify, teachers needed to attend all four meetings, lead an energy or sustainability project of their creation and write a report that provided an overview of results.

This was a great opportunity for each school to voice their perspective, share ideas, and develop a robust, effective program in an open, energetic forum. Don’t miss out on our next ETAC gathering or PST!

Below is an example of past meeting dates and guidelines for projects.

2013 Meeting Dates:
