  • Snow Leopard Crashing Nightmare
    I'm so fucked up with the crashes in Snow Leopard! Everything crashes everywhere!

    File uploading w/ Safari and/or Firefox. Crashes. (I have to use IE6 in a WinXP VirtualBox to upload files, man!)
    Opening some old projects with Xcode 3.2. Crashes. (I have to try and try and try to grab a chance. Shoot!)
    Open a modal window and trigger Visor. Crashes. (Well actually it's a Visor issue. But yes, still crash.)

    And 10.6.1 DOES NOT FIX ALL THIS!! What's Apple doing? Hope they're gonna come up with a solution before my hair all gone.

  • Snow Leopard Always Hangs "Preparing" Installer
    It's turned out that the "software update" hanging issue is caused by installer. If you find your installer hangs at "preparing XXX" or software update, restart your mac. Force quit & restart installer won't work. The "good" thing is that Snow Leopard is really FAST during restarting...

  • Funny "TEST" & "DEBUG WINDOW" Buttons in Snow Leopard A432 (GM Build = 10.6 Retail)
    I've not checked the checksum myself, but if everyone said was true, that A432 IS the GM / Retail version, it'd be funny to see these debug buttons in the final build. Check the screenshot below.

  • XBox 360 Summer Update Available For Downloading
    Downloading now. New features including:

    User Ratings – Rate any game content on Xbox LIVE. Also, sort by ratings to find games, demos, trailers, and more that have received top ratings.
    Indie Games – Xbox LIVE Community Games has been renamed to Xbox LIVE Indie Games to better reflect the independent spirit of these games.
    Account Management Enhancements – Show off how long you've been an Xbox LIVE Gold member with a stamp on your gamer card—and get a reminder when your subscription is about to run out.
    However, the thing I expected most is hard-drive install storage saving. I don't know if installed games are affected or not, let's see it later.
    Avatar Props – You can now equip your avatar with animated items he or she can carry around and interact with.
    Avatar Marketplace – Reflect your sense of style with the new Avatar Marketplace. Download and purchase premium items, including branded apparel from fashion labels and Xbox 360 games.
    Games on Demand – You can now download full Xbox 360 games over Xbox LIVE. You can purchase games using Microsoft® Points or a credit card, and download them directly to your console hard drive. No physical disc is required to play these games.
    UI Improvements – Enjoy an enhanced user interface, including streamlined navigation, new ways to sort your friends list, and a revamped achievement browser.
    Xbox LIVE Parties – Invite your friends to an Xbox LIVE Party more easily than ever before, and automatically reconnect if you get disconnected from a party.*

  • Creating Free Ringtones For iPhone
    I have to admit that the idea of purchasing a self-made ringtone from iTunes Store is gay, especially when you already own that song legally, not to mention that tons of your favorite songs don't even have a ringtone version. Well, actually you are more than free to created any ringtone you like by yourself, with all the tools provided by Apple already. Here are the steps:
    1. Make an AAC version of one of your song (if it's downloaded from iTunes Store, it's not needed)
    2. Trim it by using QuickTime Player Pro (not sure about the windows version but in Snow Leopard it's gonna be free)
    3. Rename it's prefix to *.m4r from mov or m4a or whatever
    4. Drag it to your iTunes and sync with your iPhone
    Actually it's pretty late for me to learn about this, but anyway, it's never too late for learning.

  • Hassle "Street Fighter" Letter
    I received a letter to inform me my iPhone app "SF4 Bible" has violated Capcom's rights, and they demand a detailed selling report about it. Well they are making a mistake, because this is an unofficial app, and:

    1. No "Street Fighter" or other trademark from Capcom has used;
    2. All images are drawn by me, not them;
    3. All data are collected from internet, not from them;
    4. I own a legal copy of Street Fighter 4 and I'd like to do anything I want, including tell other people how to perform a "hadouken";
    5. I'm outside America and the federal law and other laws are not applied for me.

    Apple may be afraid of them and may delete my app, but I won't buy it. Apple can force me to do anything because I'm having an agreement with Apple, which is written by them; but Capcom not. I'm one of their customers and a huge fun of Street Fighter, but that's it. I don't own them ANYTHING. Actually it's people like ME who make them benefit, so what? They must be out of their mind. If they really want that several ten dollars, come and

  • Switched To Safari 4
    Firefox always became incredibly slow recently, so I switched to Safari 4. I'm not a Safari-lover but I'd like to give it a shot.

    Pros
    • Very fast & stable - I'm not using a Windows version, man!

    Cons (mostly in habit)
    • Mail checking plug-in: now use adium for hotmail and google notifier for gmail.
    • Download management: set default download folder to Desktop
    • Ad-block: installed SafariBlock
    • No black-ground white-font solution: control-option-command-8
    I'll post new plug-ins works for me onto the Mac OS X page.

  • Best PSX Solution On OS X
    The most important reason for people to keep living with Microsoft's crappy Windows may be different for different people, but technically, the ONLY THING other OS cannot do is the GAMES. Unlike Blizzard Entertainment, most game publishers don't want to bother with any OS X ports, not to mention Linux since it's "too free". Anyway, I found it's frustrating that I couldn't even play OSX games on OS X. Mame OS X is way out of date already, but at least it allows me to play the old Street Fighter series. However PSX emulation is much worse.

    The only PSX emulators I can find on OS X are PCSX and FlareStorm (FlareStorm2), but they both are toooooooold. The problem is that I can't even get they run on my Macbook Pro. Switching to Windows always takes too much time, and MBP always becomes incredible hot in Windows XP. So my choices are left for only 2 options: WINE and Virtual Box (they are all open & free). I then happily found that WINE can do the trick.

    I used to dislike WINE because it's buggy. And yes, it is buggy, but once it comes with emulators vs virtual machines, it becomes not that bad at all. I still won't choose WINE for most plug-in based applications such as IE, but for emulator, as it is accurate, I guess it is the best solution for me.

  • Haiyun Girl Incident: Who's Fault?
    Of course we should blame the governors. While people can get porn stuffs all around the web, some stupid Chinese idiots still want to keep Chinese people away from porn. Well, misters, it's IMPOSSIBLE! And you see what happened then? A hell lot of stupid Chinese who just don't know how to get porn pictures online start to look for Haiyun Girl's pictures like crazy. And that makes the Chinese governors satisfied at last. Bah. Fuck them all.

    The retard who uploaded those pictures are holding custody by Chinese police. Can you believe or not, he's taken CRIMINAL CHARGE!! What the hell is going on, man!? Are the district attorneys eating too much so that the fat goes in their brains which makes them not able to think what they should do? What a stupid coun... I mean what a stupid world.
