Where can I get more help with my online class?

- contact OpenSUNY at 844-673-6786 or, create an online ticket.

For content questions (assignments, due dates, grades, etc.),
- contact your professor

My courses do not appear in the "My Courses" area!

Your online courses will first appear in the "Course" module no later than 7 days before the first day of class. If you register less than 7 days before the class starts, your online course will appear within 24 hours of registering.

If you registered more than 24 hours ago, and it is less than 7 days before your course starts, and you are still not able to see your online courses - please contact the SUNY Ulster Help Desk for further assistance.

Some courses do not begin on the first day of the semester, these are considered Express Semester courses and start weeks, or sometimes months after the standard first day of class. Please check your schedule, particularly at the "start date" of the course, to confirm when your course should be available via the Portal. All classes are available seven days prior to their official start date.

When I click the Courses icon it says "invalid user."

If you are a new student, it takes 24 hours between registration and your Blackboard account being created.

Can I use Blackboard on an iPad or Tablet?

You may download the Blackboard Learn app onto your mobile device. Please be very aware that not every course is set up to work on the mobile app and some features of your classes, such as tests or discussions, may not function via the app. You will need to have access to a computer in order to complete most classes.

Is attendance important? ABSOLUTELY!

Students are expected to attend all class meetings (classroom or online) in courses which they are registered. Students enrolled in online courses MUST log onto their course within the first week of the semester. Failure to log into the online course can result in course access being denied by the instructor. Instructors determine their own class attendance policy. Excessive absence or lateness may lead to a recommendation by the instructor that the student be dropped from the class with an appropriate grade.

WARNING!Financial Aid recipients may lose their eligibility due to lack of attendance.
