Who is my advisor?

You can look up your advisor on the portal at my.sunyulster.edu -> Student Resources tab -> Advisement and Registration channel -> Registration Tools -> “Advisor and student information look-up.”

How can I add and drop courses?

  • If you are changing sections only go to Registrar’s Office-VAN 206. (i.e.: ENG 101 01 to ENG 101 02)
  • If you are a non-matriculated student changing classes go to Registrar’s Office-VAN 206.
  • If you are a matriculated student changing classes (i.e. - COM 105 to HIS 101) you must get an advisor’s signature.
  1. See your academic advisor.
  2. Visit your Academic Department to see if an academic advisor is available.
  3. If your academic advisor is unavailable proceed to the Enrollment and Success Center – VAN 119. Warning! If you are a full-time student receiving financial aid or healthcare benefits based on full-time status and you drop below 12 credits, you may lose your aid/benefits. For financial aid recipients, courses must fulfill requirements of your degree program. Please check with Financial Aid if you have questions-VAN 105.

What are the add/drop/withdrawl dates?

ADD dates: First 4 days of the semester DROP dates: First 3 weeks of the semester WITHDRAWAL dates: Weeks 4-10 of the semester NO Refunds Warning! If you withdraw properly on or before the established withdrawal deadline each semester, you will receive a “W” grade for the course. If you fail to formally withdraw, you may receive an “F” grade.

What is the REFUND policy?

Information regarding the college's refund policy and timetable can be found in the portal's Student Resources tab in the Payment and Finance Options channel, under Tuition and Fees.

How do I request an official transcript?

Official transcripts may be requested online, or in person.

  • For electronic request and payment:
    • Log into the portal (http://my.sunyulster.edu), click the Student Resources tab -> Student Forms and Applications channel -> Request Transcripts -> "Request an Official Transcript."
  • For in person or by mail requests:
    • Download and print the official transcript request form and deliver it in person or by mail, with payment for the total amount due for the number of transcripts requested, in the form of a check or money order, payable to SUNY Ulster. Payment by Master Card, Visa or Discover is acceptable, in person, at the Office of the Registrar, only.

How do I get an un-official transcript?

Log into the portal (http://my.sunyulster.edu), click the Student Resources tab -> Student Forms and Applications channel -> Request Transcripts -> "Get an Un-Official Transcript." In the resulting page, select the Level (All Levels, Credit or Non-Credit) of the Transcript you wish to view. Student [Unofficial] is the only choice for transcript Type. Click "Submit"

How do I check my grades?

Log into the portal (http://my.sunyulster.edu), click the Student Resources tab. Your most recent grades will be displayed in the "Student Grades" channel, with a link to view your full transcript.

Where do I find my transfer of credit?

Your transfer credits will appear on your unofficial transcript.

How do I view/print my course schedule?

Log into my.sunyulster.edu, click the Student Resources tab. The "Your Schedule" channel should be the first channel shown.

Where do I find out my placement / assessment test scores?

Log into the portal (http://my.sunyulster.edu), click the Student Resources tab -> Advisement and Registration channel -> Registration Tools -> View Placement Tests.

How do I change my major or advisor?

You can will find the form to change your program or advisor on the portal at my.sunyulster.edu -> Student Resources tab -> Advisement and Registration channel -> Forms -> "Program-Advisor Change." Print the form and when complete submit to Wendy McCorry in VAN 119H.

When and how do I apply for graduation?

The graduation application is found on the portal at my.sunyulster.edu -> Student Resources tab -> Student Forms and Applications channel -> Apply for Graduation. The application due dates can be found on my.sunyulster.edu -> Home tab -> Deadlines & Due Dates.

How close am I to finishing my Degree?

You can see how far you have progressed through your chosen academic program or perform a "what if" analysis for a different program by using the Degree Works system. Degree Works is found on the portal at my.sunyulster.edu -> Student Resources tab -> Advisement and Registration channel -> Advisement Info -> Academic Planner (DegreeWorks).Comprehensive Instructions can be found in the same channel.
