Change to School Calendar

posted Mar 19, 2018, 12:08 PM by Jonathan Reed

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Although we have enjoyed the winter and all the weather that comes with living in the Northeast, we have decided to review our 2017-2018 school calendar in light of the number of snow days incurred and will be making the following changes.

The Friday, April 6th Professional Development day will become a normal day of school which will have the effect of changing the last day of school for students to Thursday, June 21st. This will also give us one more snow day, if needed, to keep us from going to the last week of June with students. If additional days are needed, we will then have to fall into the last week of June.

If families have made plans for that long weekend in April, please communicate with your building administrator as to absenteeism.

We hope that this change will allow us a more consistent means to deliver educational services to your children and, weather permitting,  start the summer vacation before the end of June.

Thank you in advance for your flexibility in this situation.

Sincerely,

Russell Holden

Superintendent
