ABOUT MRS. BLEVINS

Hi! My name is Mrs. Penny Blevins, and I have been teaching at Rock Springs for over 20 years and Loving It! This year I am excited to be teaching Core Knowledge Language Arts. Early in my career I was privileged to work with a group of doctors writing language arts curriculum, so I am excited about being back in this subject! I am married to Richard, and we have two sons, and three granddaughters. We love to hike, bike, swim, read, and travel. Dear Parents,

We warmly welcome your family to our school and to fourth grade! We value the trust you have put in us to partner with you for your child’s education. Mrs. McGhee teaches Math, Mrs. Anderson teaches history Ms. Bogan teaches science, and Mrs. Blevins teaches English Language Arts. Our slogan is “WORK HARD! PLAY HARD!”

SCHEDULE/ATTENDANCE

Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies will all be taught before lunch. Please make sure your child is on time as we will be learning from “bell to bell”. Please try to schedule all doctor appointments after 12:00.

COMMUNICATION

We strive to keep open lines of communication with you. It is very important to fill out the communication papers in the brown envelope ASAP. We will use email and the front pocket of the daily folder to send information to you as well as Class DoJo and our individual class web sites. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate in contacting us.

*THE DAILY FOLDER

This year your child will have a daily folder to help get communication and work to and from school. The Return to School pocket is for things that need to come back to school the next day. This may be work that your child will need to have the next day or communication to you that requires a signature to be returned etc. The Keep at Home pocket is for things that do not need to be returned. This may include graded papers that we are finished with or communication that you need to keep at home.

Google Classroom

We are very excited to be using Google Classroom this year. Please sign the permission form and return to us ASAP. We can’t wait to get started! It is so much fun for the students to be engaged and collaborating with teachers and other students as they work.

SCHOOL FEES

School fees this year are $33.00. Thank you for remitting these as soon as possible.
