Attention Juniors:  There will be a sectional game here at Sturgeon on Wednesday, February 28.  We are in need of concession stand workers for both games.  Please sign up outside of Ms. Campbell's door.  


"Our yearbook staff will be taking club pictures on Thursday, March 1 during 1st and 2nd hours. We have already taken sports team, FBLA, and FFA pictures, if you are in another club, please be ready for pictures that day."


"FBLA will be re-scheduling their meeting for Tuesday, February 27 during lunch in Mrs. Smith’s classroom. We will have our carry in breakfast bar, please bring your breakfast food then."


FFA is having a school wide canned food drive the week of the 19th trough 28th. Each can equals one point for the class. Drop off cans in the box with your class on it in the commons. Cans will be counted each day. 


FTA will have a lunch meeting in the library on Friday 2/23?  We need to discuss the NE Region meeting plans.


Today the  assigned FBLA member to sell candy is:  Jesse Roberts


Seniors: I have your information typed up to send to the newpapers. Please stop in to verify your future plans, etc...Carol 


The following Seniors need to turn in their Baby pictures: Colton, Kayla, Mackenzie, Dalton, Emily, Dakota, Chris G, Rachel, Chris K, Ryan, Lily,  Patrick, Annabell, Daniel, Annie S, Charlee, Joanah, Gage, Jake S and Erik please give to Zoe Thomas or Cailey Mabrey. The following Seniors still need to return their Yearbook forms to Zoe Thomas: Dalton Bradley, Annabell Parks,  & Gage Snider. Deadlines are pressing on these. 



Counselor's Corner
The registration deadline for the April 14, 2018 ACT is March 9, 2018. 

Seniors please make sure that you are requesting transcripts to be sent to schools you are applying to.  Also, be sure to have your FAFSA and ACT scores sent to those schools as well.

Seniors, if you have been awarded a scholarship please stop by and let Mr. Boyer know the name and the amount of the scholarship.  We want to recognize that at our Scholarship Awards night.

A+ Tutors should turn in their February logs by 3pm on Friday, March 2, 2018!

Students who still have not turned in their Personal Plans of Study and Course Request Forms signed by a parent or guardian MUST do so this week if you want your scheduled created.  Thank you.

For those students going to visit MATC on March 1, please turn in your yellow permission slips by Wednesday.

New scholarships available on the school counseling website are:
The local Willy Wilson Memorial Scholarship application is now available on the school counseling website.  Applicants must be a senior at a Boone County High School.  They must be enrolling in college for the first time.  They must have previous theater experience (onstage, backstage, or technical).  Applicants must plan on being involved in the performing arts in the future.  Scholarship amount is 1,500 dollars and the due date is March 15, 2018.  Please click on the link, download and print off the application, and apply if eligible. 

The local Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Scholarship application is now available on the school counseling website.  Students who attend Fayette, Harrisburg, or Sturgeon HS may apply as long as they have a 2.5 GPA or higher and are enrolled in a college or technical school for the Fall 2018 semester.  The amount is 500.00 dollars and the due date is April 20, 2018.  Please click on the link, download and print off the application, and apply if eligible.

The local Diane L. Painter Memorial Scholarship application is now available on the school counseling website.  Students applying must be a senior who is considering a career in Criminal Justice/Psychology and/or Law Enforcement.  The applicant should show financial need and should have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  Scholarship amount is 1,000 dollars and the due date is April 27, 2018.  Please click on the link, download and print off the application, and apply if eligible.
