Leipsic Local School District - Academic Hall of Honor
The Hall of Honor was established by the Leipsic Education Foundation (LEF) to recognize and honor distinguished alumni who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments and/or excellence in any of these areas:
Academic/Career Accomplishments
A respected leader in his/her profession
Demonstrated unique accomplishments within the area of his/her academic talents
Recognized academic achievements at LHS as well as after high school
Cultural/Performing Arts
A recognized name in the performing arts community
An active contributor and promoter of cultural activities
Major Contributions to the Leipsic Local School District (Non-alumni, former employees eligible)
Promotion of the school's name and mission
A major influence in the lives of Leipsic students whether by example or by contribution
Notable contributions to the community
Military Service/Public Service
Recognized as having had an accomplished military career
Outstanding public servant
Nominees should also exemplify a personal commitment to:
Good character
Scholarship
Leadership
Service within his/her field of expertise
Dedication to lifelong learning
Nominations will be due annually on September 1st so that the LEF can select inductees at their Fall meeting. Awardees will be notified shortly after this meeting and be asked to draft a bio of accomplishments that will be displayed on their plaque. A picture of the nominee will also be required for inclusion on the plaque. Nominations will be kept on file for five (5) years. Furthermore, nominations for posthumous awards will be accepted.
The induction ceremony will take place at the annual Academic Honors Program for students in grades 9-12 who have maintained a 3.5+ throughout each semester in high school.
