The purpose of this blog is to bring awareness to healthcare problems found and how they impact our health as a result. A lack of patient-centered care and a lack of fiduciary doctor-patient relationship impact a severe issue presenting itself at the base of healthcare delivery. This issue is known as medical malpractice due to negligence. I will try and feature more stories about this issue and hopefully this will encourage people to want to share it with their family and friends. This website is open for people to talk (or rant) about the injustices that they themselves have been witness too. Medical malpractice due to negligence causes up to 98,000 in hospitals a year (Marshall Allen). This is a link that will take you to a website that talks about the total amount of deaths and injuries resulted from medical malpractice due to negligence. The amount of deaths and injuries could be reduced simply by changing the atmosphere present in the medical field concerning the doctor-patient relationship.

An idea of redesigning healthcare and its delivery system originated from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in the year 2001 when the institute came up with the 6 aims for safe quality care, one of which is patient-centeredness. IOM: crossing the quality chasm is an article that describes the true goal of the Institute of Medicine and how the 6 aims for a better healthcare environment will hopefully be executed throughout the following few years.
