HOW TO APPLY: 
  • View the complete scholarship description and qualifications by clicking on the scholarship name.
  • All applicants need to demonstrate the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program: academic preparation, interpersonal skills, professional behaviors and community mindedness. Please be aware that some scholarship search committees check social networking profiles as a reference. (It is only possible to receive one PVHS scholarship, although a senior may apply for multiple scholarships.)
  • If you meet the criteria, click on the scholarship application link and complete the application form. Click on the link to the recommendation form (if applicable) and send it to the individual(s) who will complete it for you.
  • All scholarship applications must be completed online by March 2, 2015 unless otherwise stated.  (Be sure to save a copy for your own records.)

Basic Qualifications
 ALCOA Science  Science faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Bettendorf Hy-Vee Citizenship
 Senior who demonstrates important values of friendliness, helpfulness, integrity, dedication and community involvement.
 Bettendorf PV Baseball Participation
 Senior must have played baseball within the Bett/PV Youth Program (including Diamond Kings and/or Colt) for a minimum of six years.
 Bettendorf Rotary Service
 Senior must demonstrate leadership, academic success and a spirit of willing service to others.
 Bill and Ellen Stradt Family   Information Technology and computer applications/programming faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Brett Greenwood Total Effort
Senior who best exemplifies the work ethic, spirit, and total effort that define Brett's success.
Bridgeview Elementary Achievement  The PTA president or his/her designee(s) and principal of Bridgeview Elementary will select the senior applicant who attended Bridgeview and who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leader Scholarship Program
 Carolyn and Joseph Martin Family  Planning on post-secondary education with a GPA and ACT consistent with college admission.
 Christine Harvey True Blue     Be a graduating senior of PVCHS.         Demonstrate loyalty and a good work ethic in the classroom and beyond.  Be a well-rounded person of good character.
  Cody Elementary Achievement  Each applicant must have attended Cody 
 Best exemplify the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Cyndy Behrer Leadership Complete the majority of K-12 education in PV schools. Provide evidenced-based commitment to these characteristics: scholarship, leadership, character and service.
Deborah R Menke Leadership   Self-directed learner, communicates effectively, attend PV from 7th-12th grades, minimum GPA 3.0.
 Dr. Dale Barber True Grit Scholarship   Be a graduating senior of PVCHS. Demonstrate persistence and tenacity in the classroom and beyond. Shows initiative or entrepreneurial drive.  Is a well-rounded person of good character. 
  Dr. Vijay Rajendtan Family Scholarship  Senior applicant who has an interest in Science/Medicine.  Greatest financial need will also be considered.
 English Department Achievement  English faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Family and Consumer Sciences Achievement Family & Consumer Sciences faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 J. Fred and Maxine Green Family  Minimum GPA of 3.0 and been a four-year participant in athletics and have participated in a high school or community music program which includes high school band, orchestra, or chorus; or community activities including church choir or private instruction.
 K.A.T.E. (Karing About Those Exceptional)
 Pursue a career in the helping and/or advocacy profession. Be community-minded and show evidence of service-learning experience that is consistent with the intent of this scholarship.
 LeClaire Lions Club Service
 A senior who has gone beyond the community service requirements for graduation. Special consideration will be given to a student that has served those with sight and/or hearing impairments and who has the greatest financial need.
 LeClaire Manufacturing Achievement Industrial technology faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Math Department Achievement Math faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
ORA Orthopedics Achievement Be a graduating senior from PVHS. 
Planning on post-secondary education with a GPA and ACT consistent with college admission. Plan to pursue a career related to study of musculoskeletal health, i.e., physician, nurse, physical and occupational therapist, or athletic trainer
 Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company  Have a strong community service record.  Special consideration will be given for financial need.
 Performing and Visual Arts Achievement  The faculty of instrumental music, vocal music, art, and drama along with a representative from respective booster clubs, will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Pleasant Valley Education Association
 Planning a career in education.
 Pleasant View Elementary Achievement  Must have attended Pleasant View
 Best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
PTA Character Counts Best exemplifies trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, citizenship, fairness, and respect

 Social Studies Department Achievement Social Studies faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program
 Spartan Assembly School Involvement Minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership qualities and be a positive role model in the community.
 Spartan Nation iHope  Students do not apply - Nominated by administration
 Tinsman Family Education
 Member of NHS and have received 1st honors or above for 6 semesters. Must have challenged one's self with core courses the entire senior year. Be an active participant in a significant number of performing arts, sports or other school activities along with being a community volunteer. 
 Tom & Martha Shaff Licea Family Scholarship  Must be involved in school, community or a job. Be a hardworking student in the classroom and out; and a student of good character
 World Language Department Achievement  Foreign language faculty will select the senior applicant who best exemplifies the characteristics of the New Leaders’ Scholarship Program

  Ann and Rainsford Brown Jr. Memorial  Plan to attend a four-year college with the interest in business, a two year vocational program with special consideration given to diesel/automotive technology, or a truck driving school.
 Carl D Schillig Memorial  Minimum GPA of 2.3 and must exemplify Carl Schillig's spirit and interests.  Personal interview will be required of finalists.
 Chuck Murphy Spartan Spirit

Exhibits the qualities of hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship

  Coe Noack MemorialMust have attended Edison Academy through senior year or attended PVCHS having experience an obstacle in his/her life that made graduation a challenge.
 Crystal Neuhaus Memorial   Completed grades 7-12 in PV schools. Earned a 2.75+ cumulative GPA and has been admitted to a post-secondary institutoin(2 or 4 year). Played the same sport through high school. Has exhibited a great work ethic, a strong competitive spirit and outstanding citizenship in the classroom and on the athletic field. 
 David J. Ramnath Memorial Minimum GPA of 3.5 and have participated in at least one sport all four years.
 Evelyn Lehman iHope             Students do not apply - Nominated by administration
  J. Andrew Green Memorial  Minimum GPA of 3.0. Senior who has demonstrated qualities of positive leadership and has exhibited positive citizenship in school and community. Must profess a sincere goal of pursuing a post-graduate degree in a field of patient-oriented medicine.

 Jana S.Witte Memorial Band  Have studied Band all four years and plan to continue studying and/or performing music in college. 
 Jana S.Witte Memorial Orchestra  Have studied Orchestra all four years and plan to continue studying and/or performing music in college. 
 Jana S.Witte Memorial Vocal Music  Have studied Vocal Music all four years and plan to continue studying and/or performing music in college. 
  Janet E. Keady Memorial  Selection will be based on academic accomplishment, participation in extra-curricular activities, and demonstrated financial need.  Student must plan to attend schools whose costs are in line with/or less than the regents institutions in Iowa. Personal interview will be required of finalists.
 Jayne Lee Andreesen MemorialMinimum GPA of 3.75 and interested in pursuing a career in a health-related field. Applicant should be a positive role model and not afraid of a challenge. 
  Jeffrey J. Donahue MemorialInterested in pursuing a career in a business or IT related field. Have participated in at least one sport each of your four years and be a person of good character, a leader and have a positive attitude on life. (two scholarships available)
 Jeremy "Red" Scannell     A senior who is involved in multiple athletic activities during their high school years and plan to attend a college or vocational school upon graduation. 
  John P. Bowe MemorialMinimum GPA of 3.0 and ACT composite score of 21.  Applicant must plan to pursue a career related to working with mentally and/or physically handicapped individuals or mental health care.
Joseph & Sue Kaesbauer Memorial  Four-year participant in Track and Field.  Applicants should have a positive attitude, display leadership skills and be a person of good character.
 Joshua D. Fullmer Memorial  Intended for a hard-working student with a median gpa involved in at least one extra-curricular or community activity. A personal interview may be required.
 Lindsay Suhl Memorial  Minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicant should be a leader and positive role model.
 Merrit Parsons Memorial  Students do not apply - Nominated by administration
 Paul N Lensmeyer Memorial

Be a graduating senior at PVHS.
 Plan to attend University of Iowa, Iowa State University or University of Northern Iowa.
 Academic credentials necessary for admission to the above Universities.
 A student that displays Paul’s characteristics of community involvement and “Listening, caring, doing what’s right”.

 Philip A. Czachowski Memorial  Minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrates the desire to achieve his or her full potential.  Personal interview will be required of finalists.
 Ralph and Marjorie VenHorst Family  Plan to attend a two our four-year institution in Iowa or enter into a local apprenticeship program.  Exemplify the spirit of hard work, positive attitude, and service to the community.
  Rao Chitneni Memorial  Minimum GPA of 3.0 and be a well-rounded student having been active in multiple extra-curricular activities with special consideration given to someone who has overcome an obstacle.
  R. Hovey Tinsman Jr. Memorial  Member of NHS and have received 1st honors or above for 6 semesters. Must have challenged one's self with core courses the entire senior year. Be an active participant in a significant number of performing arts, sports or other school activities along with being a community volunteer. 
 Steven J. Vander Horn Endowed  Applicant should have the desire and intention to seek an engineering degree at Iowa State University.
 Tom St. Clair Memorial  Has one of the highest cumulative GPA after seven semesters of course work
 Tyler Ledezma Memorial GPA satisfactory for college admission
Demonstrates hard work, is willing to help others, tries to the best of his/her ability in academic studies
