August 14, 2014 Day 2

1.                   The Iowa Senate, House of Representatives, and the Legislative Services Agency (LSA) are inviting Iowa high school juniors and seniors to apply for Page positions for the 2015 session of the Iowa General Assembly.  If you are interested or would like more information please stop in the Guidance Office.

2.                   There will be a drama club meeting in the theatre today after school.  Come and see what drama club is all about.  We would love to have you!

3.                   Reminder - All service learning paperwork is required to be turned in DURING the semester it is COMPLETED.  If you have completed hours this summer, please turn them in to Mrs. Jepsen.  Thanks!

4.                   Pleasant Valley Junior High is looking for student volunteers to help with the football games and volleyball games.  Sign up with friends and get your hours completed.  See Mrs. Jepsen ASAP. 

5.                   Today’s lunch selections are:  Spicy Chicken Wrap, General Tso Chicken, and Cheeseburger.

6.                   Friday’s breakfast selections are: Breakfast Sandwiches.

1.                If you have any medications or personal items in the nurse’s office or refrigerator please pick them up by Tuesday or they will be disposed of.

2.                Girls cross country summer runs will begin on Monday, June 9 @ 8am at the high school.  We will meet on Mon, Tues, and Thurs @ the high school, Wed @ Lindsay Park, Friday at Crow Creek Park.

1.                Reminder:  All service learning hours completed during this year need to be turned in before Tuesday for them to count.  Hours will not be accepted next year if they were completed in the previous school year.

2.                If you have any medications or personal items in the nurse’s office or refrigerator please pick them up by Tuesday or they will be disposed of.

3.                Girls cross country summer runs will begin on Monday, June 9 @ 8am at the high school.  We will meet on Mon, Tues, and Thurs @ the high school, Wed @ Lindsay Park, Friday at Crow Creek Park.

4.                All girls track members need to meet on the track at 2pm today for a team state championship picture.  Please wear your blue “Practice Like a Champion” team t-shirt from this season.

5.                Congratulations to Charlie Humes for placing third in the State in Singles and to the doubles team of Sam Perenich & Sriram Sugumaran for placing sixth in the State in Doubles…great season guys!

6.                At the Iowa CTP State Meet the JV PV Trap Team took 3rd Place at State.  The team consisted of Brendan Robinson, John Jones, Tommy Cassatt, Roland Bettis, and Sam Bailey.  Brendan Robinson shot 25 straight twice.  Congratulations boys to a great weekend of shooting!

7.                Today’s lunch selections are:  Breaded Chicken Sandwich and Broccoli & Cheese.

8.                Breakfast selections for Tuesday:  Waffles, Pancakes, or French Toast. All breakfast include fruit or vegetable, and milk.  Offered daily-Muffins, Cereal, Pop Tarts, PB& Jelly.

1.                Students registered for AP English Language & Composition for Fall 2014 should see Dr. Lundberg (room 159) for the summer reading assignment.

2.                REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS:  Be ON TIME for your finals or you may have to reschedule for another time.

3.                All lost & found items not picked up by Tuesday, June 3rd, will be donated to Good Will.

4.                Any young man interested in joining the cross country squad next year is invited to attend an informational meeting at 2pm in Coach Belby’s room on Monday.

5.                The boys’ & girls’ PE locker room will be cleaned out on Monday.  All clothing and personal items must be removed from lockers today.

6.                Today’s lunch selections are:  Italian Beef Sub, Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

7.                Breakfast selections for Monday:  Breakfast Pizza. All breakfast include fruit or vegetable, and milk.  Offered daily-Muffins, Cereal, Pop Tarts, PB& Jelly.

1.                All students taking AP Spanish next year should see Miss Risius to pick up summer work prior to leaving in June.

2.                Any track girls who were unable to attend the banquet should see Mrs. Wheeler to pick up awards and turn in uniforms.

3.                Students registered for AP English Language & Composition for Fall 2014 should see Dr. Lundberg (room 159) for the summer reading assignment.

4.                Cherry would kindly ask that whoever took her ID card from outside Mrs. Weaver’s room please return it.  Cherry will use that as ID this summer when she is out and about for training.  Thank you!

5.                The boys track & field banquet will be held at 6pm on Sunday, June 1, in the high school cafeteria.  Please make sure that you have returned all of your gear to Coach Belby prior to the banquet.

6.                UNITE T-shirts are in!!!  If you ordered, pick up your t-shirt at the Sparbucks window 5th period TODAY!

1.                All students signed up to take AP Chemistry next fall need to stop by Mrs. Moritz’s room 243 prior to the end of the school year to pick up important information regarding summer work.

2.                Students, only mesh packs are allowed in the classroom.  Regular backpacks must be kept in your locker.

3.                Please be reminded that the dress code as outlined at the beginning of the year and reminded through multiple announcements is still in effect.

4.                The library will close at 2:30 TODAY for the PVHS retirement party.

5.                All students taking AP Spanish next year should see Miss Risius to pick up summer work prior to leaving in June.

1.                All students taking AP European History next fall need to stop by Mr. Meyers class before finals for a brief meeting and a handout for the summer.

2.                There are a few Honor Flight t-shirts left over from the Zorb Ball tournament.  If you would like to purchase one for $5 please see Ms. Weinschenk in room 187.  All money goes to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.  We are $23 short of our $2000 goal; please help us reach our goal!

3.                Reminder to all students that library books are due by the end of the day, Tuesday, May 27th.

5.                Congratulations to Kyle Werning, Tyler Benge, Tyler Flanders, and Andrew Dixon for their outstanding performance in the 1600 meter medley relay at the state track meet.  Their efforts earned them elite all-state honors.
