Weekly Happenings!

Math- We continue to work on comparing fractions. We will also start to compare and order fractions this week into next.
Reading-   Our focus is Key Ideas and Details:RL.3.3 Students should be able to describe characters in a story (e.g., their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events.
Spelling-  We have completed units 22 and will complete unit 23 this week. Both units focused on Homophones. Students have to know the correct spelling of the homophone that is read in the example sentence.
Social Studies-  We continue to work on our  Civics Unit through our PBL. We are excited to share/showcase our projects during Student-Led Conferences.
Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge.   (Taken from the Buck Institute for Education)

Writing- Students are currently  working on our second Persuasive Paper. Students are trying to persuade administration to have a school wide Peace Day at WH or for the student body to adapt their Peace Maker Project into their daily routines.
