Hello, my name is Deb Caywood and the 2016-2017 school year will mark my 20th year as a classroom teacher. While I took a brief tour in second grade, the majority of my teaching career has been with 5th graders. This will be my 9th year working for Liberty Public School District. and I feel so blessed to be a part of the phenomenal teaching staff at EPiC Elementary.
I attended Langston University in Oklahoma where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. In 2013, I completed my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State University.
I am passionate about curriculum and innovative ways to make students fall in love with learning.
When I am not teaching, my life centers around my awesome family. My husband and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year. We have 3 children. Mason Taylor, 23, who lives in Portland, OR, Austin Caywood who is 20 and finishing up a Culinary Program at JCCC this fall, and Emily-16-who is a junior at Liberty North High School. I enjoy traveling, going to movies, Disney World, and cooking/baking.
What We Love About 5th Grade
My name is Claudia Howerton. I have taught in Liberty School District and EPiC Elementary for 1 year. I am not new to teaching. I have been in education for 14 years and during this time I have taught K, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades, and been a Library Media Specialist.
I am an alumni from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. I have earned my Masters Degree in Technology Education.
I am married with two boys, and two adopted dogs. We are a pretty active family with the boys in scouts, soccer, and baseball. When I have free time, I enjoy reading, baking, watching movies, and traveling.
I am thrilled to be teaching 5th grade at EPiC.
