Welcome!!!!! The course description is below.....
Dear LMS Show Choir Parents and Students,
Here is the LMS Show Choir syllabus for the 2018/19 year! We have an exciting year ahead of us in chorus; jam-packed with plenty of opportunities to learn new musical things, build on skills we already have, and continue to grow as musicians. I have broken down the syllabus into a few categories: Communication, Grading Policy, Concert Dates, Standards, Grading Scale, Behavioral Expectations and Consequences. Let’s make this the most awesome musical year ever!! J
Sincerely,
Wes Bloom
Communication: If you have questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me here at school through my website (https://sites.google.com/a/student.dodea.edu/bloom/home), by email (wesley.bloom@eu.dodea.edu), or by phone (01638-527007). We can also communicate through the agendas.
Grading Policy: Grades in this class are on a point system.
Grades are based on the following:
· Class Participation Points - 10 points per week for arriving on time prepared, being ready to sing, actually singing, having a pencil, paper, agenda, folder, participating responsibly, displaying excellent effort, having a positive attitude, and doing everything in your power to help make things awesome!!!
· Concert Participation/Attendance- 200 points
In any performing group, success depends on 100% cooperation of all members of that group. Students and parents/guardians should be aware that rehearsals and concerts are an important and necessary part of the music program at Lakenheath Middle School. Plus, it’s a BIG GRADE!

Rules are in place to create a safe learning environment for our students. The expectations in class are:
· Enter Classroom quietly and on time.
· Be Prepared. Bringing music, lyrics, a positive attitude and high effort level will make the year awesome!
· Be aware, stay on task, listen to and follow directions (the first time they are given). Know when to sing and when NOT to sing.
· PRACTICE on a regular basis.
· No food or gum is allowed in the music room. Water only, please.
· Treat everyone and everything with care and respect (keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself and please do not use vulgar, hurtful, or offensive language) and maintain a positive attitude. It's more FUN that way!
· You are responsible for putting away all your materials at the end of class.
· Please tidy up the room before you leave the classroom.
· Abide by school rules.
If directions are followed, work is completed, etc…. then positive consequences, like these, will be heading your way! [Praise, positive notes and/or calls home from the teacher, satisfaction of a job well done (self praise), and other rewards.
