BBHS HOLIDAY HELPERS:   Need help with the kiddos to start or finish Christmas shopping?  How about wrapping those gifts without interruptions?  Maybe just a date night?  Let the BBHS help you out.  Click on the two flyers for more information:

****NEW DATE***
PTC TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON:  Wednesday, December 20, PTC will host a luncheon in appreciation of our school's teachers and staff members.  Lots of helpers are needed that day so if you have the ability to squeeze out a couple of hours it would help so much!  Teachers will be released from their classes at noon, so five "subs" will be needed to cover the teachers' classrooms through lunch.  Two to four of the subs will also monitor the students during their extended recess time on the playground, while one sub will help in the cafeteria.  Two people will serve the teachers drinks and attend to them during the lunch in the Parish Center meeting room.  Traditionally, parents send in cookies that week and a couple of volunteers combine the donated cookies and treats to create cookie plates for all the guests of the luncheon.  Please email Cassie Neltner at

Please click on the below link for a two minute, five question survey on child care needs at St. Philip.
Thank you for your time.

PAJAMA DRIVE FOR ADVENT  St. Philip School fifth and sixth grade students will be hosting a Pajama drive for Advent.  This has been a very successful service learning project in the past, collecting between 270 and 280 pairs of pajamas for distribution to various groups in Campbell County.  We are asking for all sizes and styles: infant, toddler, child, teen and young adult.  There is a need for sizes 6-14 this year.  Please send new, donated pajamas to school by December 21st for distribution in tome for Christmas.  All of the school families are asked to participate.

NCC HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT PREP COURSE:  NCC will be hosting a High School Placement Prep Course on Sunday, December 2 and again on Wednesday, December 5th from 4:30 - 6:30.  For more information please click on the link:  NCC High School Placement Test Prep Course Information

NSF POLICY:  Please read the information in the link below which comes from the Diocese as it relates to the NSF policy.  Thank you.

TINA VERST EUCHRE TOURNEY - PLAYERS AND STUDENT WORKERS:  Are you busy on Saturday, December 1st?  The committee is in need of 7th and 8th grade student volunteers to assist card players throughout the night.  If your son/daughter (St. Philip School alumni too) is interested in working, have them sign up in the classroom.  Service hours will be issued for time served at this event.  Ar you a card player?  Register to attend the event.  Please click on the link below for more information.

SANTA HOUSE:  BOTCE is hosting Santa House at the annual Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 2nd.  This is an opportunity for the children to purchase affordable gifts for their family members and friends.  All of the proceeds will benefit the Nobert Frilling Education Fund and tuition assistance.  We need your help stocking Santa House with donated, small gift items for boys and girls, moms and dads, aunts and uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers, cousins, and/or friends.  These items may be gently used or new.  Santa House especially needs items for male adults (small tools, college team items, flashlights, etc.)    The day of the sale, tehse items will be wrapped by elves in preparation for Christmas.  Send your items into the school office or place them in the boxes located in the front of Church marked Santa House sale.  We hope to see you at Breakfast with Santa and shopping at Santa House.

PARENT GROUPS EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS: As the school year comes to an end, our parent groups (BOTCE, PTC, and Boosters) are soliciting nominations for positions on their executive boards (nominations in April and elections in May). Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have concerning these positions. Please consider serving the school and students in any one of these positions of leadership. Contacts for the groups are as follows:

Cassie Neltner-Sansom, President-

Kimberly Brewer, Principal-

VIRTUS:   To volunteer at St. Philip Parish in any way that involves children, any adult must be in compliance with VIRTUS.  You must attend a VIRTUS training session, read and sign a Policies and Procedures statement, and complete a background check application.  This process (class attendance and background check) will take a month or more to complete.  Register at, at the Child and Youth Protection site or find another class to attend.  Classes are available around the diocese throughout the year.  Click on the dates and times of training.  Follow the directions at that point.  After attending the 3-hour training, you will be assigned monthly bulletins.  Bulletins are placed on the accounts on the first Sunday of the month, after 6:00 PM.  To stay in compliance, process each bulletin within 30 days.  If you do not complete your bulletin in 30 days, you will be suspended and will need to wait for the quarterly suspension release.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  St. Philip School is always in need of volunteers.  Remember, you must be VIRTUS trained and in compliance with all Diocesan Safe Environment guidelines.  We need your help in these areas:  library, school office, cafeteria helper (contact Mrs. Clift), teacher's aides:  help out with weekly skills assessment, computer class, and gym class.  Call or email me for information (441-3423 ext. 4 or  We need volunteers in the CAFETERIA.  PLEASE CONTACT MRS. CLIFT TODAY AT

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:  Have you ever considered working with children?  Would you consider this if you knew that you would be paid for the day?  I am talking 1-2 days at a time, in most cases, and the day is already planned.  St. Philip School is in need of substitute teachers to build our call list.  You must be VIRTUS trained and in compliance with the diocesan safe environment regulations.  If you are interested, please call Mrs. Brewer, school principal, at 441-3423 ext. 4 or email at for more information.

SCHOOL SUPPORT: Many easy ways to support the school would be to collect Box-tops and recycle aluminum cans.  All of these items will benefit St. Philip School.  Send your boxtops into the office and we will turn them into money.  Bonus Box-tops are on many products and offered by stores like Meijers as part of Back-to-School. Look for information at your local grocery store.  ALL BOX-TOPS HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE, including Bonus Box-Tops.  Please trim your Box-tops and labels.  We must pay postage to mail these items into the company. Grocery receipts, paper and aluminum will be processed in bulk and cashed in at the specific facility throughout the school year.
