Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
In FIRST Robotics Competition, high-school age teams have six weeks to build and code a robot to accomplish specific tasks assigned at the beginning of the calendar year. During the building season teams must fundraise money to pay tournament fees and buy parts. Overall, students exercise their engineering process skills as well as business management and organizational skills.
