    Preparation for

    First Holy Communion

The Archdiocese of Armagh has commissioned a series of videos to help the children of the Archdiocese to prepare for First Communion. The video series explores the mass and its importance in the life of the Church.  The videos will be published on the Archdiocese webpage: https://www.armagharchdiocese.org/holy-communion/ and on the parish Facebook page.

    Re-opening of our Churches

The priests’ of the parish wish to highlight the following provisions:-

     1.  The dispensation from attending Sunday Mass remains in place and those with underlying health conditions should not present at the church.

    2.      Hand sanitisers are at the entrance of both churches, parishioners are asked to sanitise their hands before entering the church.

    3.      In order for the appropriate social distancing (currently 2 metres, in all directions) can be observed, seating is restricted.

St. Michael’s, Carlingford: 2 parishioners or a family per seat clearly marked (please sit here).

St. Laurence’s, Omeath: 3 parishioners or a family per seat clearly marked (please sit here).

    4.      Both churches have a one-way system for entry and exit.

    5.      There is a one-way system, on a row by row basis for receiving Holy Communion. Priests and Ministers of the Eucharist will wear a face-covering while distributing Communion.

    6.      As in the period before the cancellation of public Masses, Holy Communion may be received by the hand only.

    7.      The envelope collection is a fixed point at the exit in both churches.

Stewards will be in both churches to assist parishioners. Every care will be taken to ensure the safety of our parishioners and we would ask for your co-operation in this.

Mass will be streamed each day on the parish webcams.

    Baptisms

We are now taking bookings for Baptisms in the parish. Only one child will be baptised at a time.  The attached diocesan video resource has been produced to help families prepare for the Sacrament of Baptism.
