English and Reading will be taught in a Language Arts block this year. Grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary, and Writing will be covered in English. Every Friday there will be either a spelling or vocabulary test. In reading they will use a basal reader as well as reading several novels. Students should always have an outside reading book with them for DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read!). They will also have weekly visits to the library.
