Dear Parents and students,
Welcome, it is my pleasure to be a part of your lives this school year.  We have many exciting activities in store.  Communication is the key in order to promote a positive learning environment. An agenda will be provided as a daily resource to communicate behavior, homework and other current events at school.  Please initial everyday where provided and let's have a fun and educational school Year!
This will be a great year, as I welcome our new teachers and especially my new colleagues who together we will be working side by side to help each and every student in our classrooms.  Please visit my class page every Monday and every other day to check for homework and any changes to our school schedule.  Please revise and review any work sent home in your child's binder/folder.  Also, please read weekly newsletters sent by the administrative staff for important information. Please send the lunch menu with an attached check on time for your child to receive lunch for the month.  Thank you and let's have a super great year!

Behavioral Management plan:

As a firm believer in communication, I really “love” the agenda.  The agenda is our “close friend” in the sense that it will help us communicate how your child is doing each and every day.  Please read the agenda every day for behavior information and for communication purpose.  Questions, concerns and any information I may need to know about your child will allow me to address it effectively and efficiently.

Mrs. Robles 1-A

Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you to this new school year.  I hope you had an enjoyable summer with your family.  I am so excited to see new faces and old faces in our Saint Matthew family.  As part of this great family we would like to share some goals for this school year.  Below you will find important information that will help your child be successful.

Communication:

I believe that throughout the year it is very important to keep in close contact with each other. I plan to keep in contact with you at the beginning of each week through my school class page (www.stmatthewelpaso.org).  Please make sure to check this page at least three times a week and most importantly every Monday.  This class page will include pertinent announcements and upcoming events; as well as homework responsibilities.  Working together will provide a successful school year for the child, the parents, and the teacher.

Please initial on the X_______, I provide to ensure you have read the agenda.

Tardies- Please be on time in the morning (7:45 a.m.).  Students who accumulate five tardies in a grading period will be suspended for a day (Parent/Student Handbook).

Lunch and Snack- Please send your child with a lunch if he/she is not on the hot lunch list.  The cost for a last minute is $ 7.00 per hot lunch meal and sometimes there are not enough meals for students who forget their lunch.  Please send a small snack in your child’s backpack with a drink to have in the afternoon.  The snack should be healthy and easy for the student to open and enjoy.

Pick up and Drop Off- We will be outside in the front of the school by 3:00 p.m.  Please give me a list (on the agenda) of people (other than the parents) who might pick up your child.  I will not let them go unless the adult has a pick-up card from the front office.

Supplies- From time to time I will need supplies for the classroom. Please know that I am grateful for all that you do to make our classroom environment more productive.

Things to Remember:

·         LABEL EVERYTHING! This includes: back packs, lunch boxes, supplies, sweaters, jackets, shoes,

·         Bring Tennis Shoes for PE each day (Velcro preferred)- must be sent in a draw-string bag or inside the backpack

·         Drinks must have a closed lid container( boxed juice or a bottled water)

·         Hot lunch menus must be accompanied with a check (No later than date stated). No cash please.

On the agenda’s first page, there is a page to fill out: Student Information, School Information, and Emergency Information.  Please write your child’s birthday at the top of that page and again please let me know in writing who is authorized to pick up your child from school besides the parents.
