Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you to everyone who sent in snacks or drinks for MAP Testing. The class looked forward to this every day.
Our first spelling and vocabulary tests will be this Friday. We will correct the unit on Thursday. Students may practice for tests on the Sadlier website located on the back cover of the book. Go to the student and family resources box. No code is necessary: sadlierconnect.com
Remember to continue to send a lunch with your student on Thursdays. Hot lunches won't start until after Labor Day.
Students should practice the combination lock for P.E class. Mrs. Clausen will test them on this skill soon.
Please spot check your student's assignment book for the first few weeks to make sure they are getting in the habit of writing everything down. It will help them stay organized and get homework done on time. We are creating a positive habit of filling out the assignment notebook throughout the day. I do check as well, but sometimes students leave early, and I miss them.
Keep in mind that I use my computer for classes during the day, so I may not see an email if you try to contact me that way. Please call the office for anything that is time sensitive. I do check my email during planning time, but that is the first hour of the day.
Please plan to attend Curriculum Night on Tuesday, September 24th at 6:00pm.
Feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns.
Have a great week!

Science-Mr. Gratkins -
This week students will partner up to build and present a “working” arm, leg, hand with wrist or foot with calf built from cardboard and other supplies (all supplies will be provided in class).
Packets will be handed out Monday as a research tool for understanding the parts to create their Design Drawings for Wed. The Arm, Leg, Hand with Wrist or Foot with Calf must be completed by Friday. I completed the slides for the presentations for them, they need to follow the questions on the slide and present their build Friday to the class. Bolded words below have an assignment associated with it. Grades in teacherease will be entered then. Non-bolded words below show what we will do in class that day. Contact me if you have any questions!
