Dear Parents and Students,
I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with your families. Thank you to everyone for helping with our Thanksgiving basket! We had everything in record time, and we made someone's Thanksgiving wonderful!
In ELA, students were assigned a contest entry for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). That essay was posted on Google Classroom before break and is due on Tuesday. We will be able to peer edit and work on the format in class, but students may not ask an adult for help per the contest rules. We will continue our novel study of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. Also, book reports are due December 11th with the book slips due on the 4th.
Unit 7 will be due in Spelling/Vocabulary on Thursday followed by the test on Friday.
Hot lunch this week is Steak N Shake.
Mr. Gratkins wanted me to pass along that students will be working on their automata build in science.
Please make sure your student dresses warmly for lunch recess. It is going to be pretty chilly this week.
Permission slips will be going home this week for our Christmas skating party on the morning of December 22nd. We will need drivers, so please sign up if you are available.
Finally, Mr. Starwalt will be talking to our class tomorrow about donations for the Advent service project for the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. I will send out a Sign-Up Genius again, and we will collect items from Nov. 28th to December 7th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hoerner
