In 2010 and 2011 from September to June we recycled 62 recycling bins.
We threw out 281 regular bins. The median number of bins recycled is 6.
The mean number of bins recycled per month is 7.75 bins.
The median number of regular bins sent to the landfill was 27.
The mean number of regular bins sent to the landfill per month was 28.1.
The largest number of bins recycled in any given month was 8.
The largest number of regular bins sent to the landfill was 36.
The mean of regular bins is higher than the mean for recycling and our aim for next year is to bring that number down so that the mean for recycling is higher than the mean for regular bins.

The Bin-O-Graph 2011-2012
For the past few days we have been putting together a project to illustrate the results of our school’s much improved recycling system. As a group, me and seven others have built a poster with numerous charts and facts to show the quantity of recycling bins that our school has been using in the last school year. We also have records of the regular bins that have been brought to landfills. The key facts from the project would be that in total for the 2012 school year we managed to recycle an average of 18.2 bins per month in total. Our average for regular bins per months was 21.8. In total we recycled 182 and disposed of 218 regular bins. So for next year we’ll be looking to have more green bins then black bins!
