Welcome

Dear Families,

Welcome to 2nd grade! I am so excited about the opportunity to get to know your children, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year. Second grade is a time of booming independence and this is something that your child will be working on everyday. Students will be expected to read at minimum 15 minutes every night in addition to daily math homework, and practicing their spelling words. This year, your child will be receiving two sacraments: First Reconciliation, and First Communion. These two sacraments are very exciting times in your child’s life and I am thrilled to share this experience with your child.

Please look out for a letter addressed to your child in the mail. I hope this letter helps your child get excited about the new school year.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at cmcclellan@stmarybg.org

Once again, welcome to 2nd grade! Let’s work together to make this the best year ever!

School Supplies
Please remember to send your child to school with all of their school supplies. The school supply list can be found on the Saint Mary website. Other than the headphone ziplock bag, please do not label any of your child's school supplies.
Snack
Starting Thursday, please send your child to school with a Nut Free nutritious snack. We will have snack time daily around 10am depending on the daily schedule.
Birthday Treats
When it is your child's birthday, feel free to send your child to school with birthday treats. However, the treats must be Nut free preferably dairy free as well. We have a lot of children with allergies in our class this year and we want to stay as safe as possible with birthday treats. For store bought treats please bring in the ingredients label and for homemade treats please bring in the recipe ingredients.
After School Program
If your child will be going to the after school program please be aware that the procedure for your child walking to the program changes in 2nd grade. Tomorrow, Lina Anderson will be coming to our class to help guide the children through the new sign in process for after school.
In addition, if your child is NOT going to the after school program on one of their regularly scheduled days, you must inform the office so that we know not to send your child to the after school program
