Meeting and Making Friends Wk 2

posted Sep 3, 2018, 5:42 PM by Tracy Keane

We had a great first week!!! The children seemed to really enjoy school and loved making new friends.  The kids have been working very hard on getting to know the class routines and daily schedules. We have been practicing walking in a line in the hall, sitting on our carpet with criss cross legs and with our hands in our laps, helping our friends clean up when playtime is over, resting quietly and sharing… just to name a few  :) We have been learning songs that go along with some of these routines, so perhaps if you ask, they just may be able to sing one :)

This week we will continue to talk about the letter M, playing and sharing with our friends, talking about what it means to be a friend and we will continue trying to learn all of our friends names!!!!

*****This week several papers will be sent home including my monthly newsletter.  Please take a few minutes to look through and read the papers and let me know if you have any questions.******

Just a few reminders:

** Parents are no longer allowed in the school through the preschool doors.  If you need to go into the office for any reason you will need to go in through the main office doors

** If you have not already done so:  If your child will not be walking out the preschool doors at the end of the day, we need a note in their folder telling us where they will be going (with a sibling/extended).  If it is going to be the same schedule for the year, one note is fine.

**Please remember to send your child with a reusable water bottle, they are much easier for the kids to open and close.

***If you have not filled out and sent in your information sheet or CANT'S form please do so ASAP

Please remember if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to email me!!  tkeane@stlinusschool.org

Have a Great Week!!!!

Meeting and Making New Friends...

posted Aug 23, 2018, 11:54 AM by Tracy Keane

It was so nice to meet so many of you at Welcome Back Night and Pre-school Orientation!!!  We are ready for an exciting fun filled year!!!  Our theme for the next two weeks is, Meeting and Making New Friends. During this time we will also focus on our every day routines and the letter “M.”   The kids will be experiencing many new things this week, so I will not be surprised if they go home exhausted. :)

I also know the beginning of the school year can be overwhelming for parents so I wanted to list a few reminders:

  •  If you did not bring in your supplies you can send them with your child on their first day of school

  •  Many of the children will have the same backpacks, lunch bags, water bottles..

  • *** PLEASE label all of your child’s things with a Sharpie Marker it will eliminate any confusion.

  • If your child will not be walking out the preschool doors at the end of the day, we need a note in their folder telling us where they will be going (with a sibling (please add the siblings grade &teacher)/extend the day).  If it is going to be the same schedule for the year, one note is fine

*I also wanted to let you know that we will be going to PE on Monday morning (please remember to have your child wear gym shoes on that day), Library on Tuesday morning, and Music on Thursday mornings.

I hope these reminders help.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year!!!

Please remember if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to email me!!  tkeane@stlinusschool.org
