*Preschool Christmas Party: Friday, December 21st from 10:00am to 11:00am. If your child does not attend school on Friday morning and you would like for them to attend, please drop them off at the preschool doors at 9:45am and pick them up at 11:00am.

Christmas Celebration ~ Week 2

I love this time of year with the preschoolers!  We are all getting into the holiday spirit and are loving learning about Jesus, Christmas, and having a lot of fun too!  The class is doing a great job practicing for the concert on Tuesday, we are ready!

Christmas Celebration

For the next three weeks our theme will be "Christmas Celebration."  

We will spend the three weeks learning about the letter Cc and what Christmas is all about!  Through Religion and activities we do in school the children will learn about Advent and how Christmas is Jesus' Birthday!  We've already started discussing the Stable and Manger where Jesus was born and we are excited to put our own class Nativity scene that the children can look at during free play time.  This is such a fun time of year for the preschoolers!

The next three weeks will be busy as we prepare for Christmas and we have lots of special things planned.  *Please remember the Christmas Concert is Tuesday, December 11th from at 10:00am.  It should last about a half hour and we have been practicing so much, I know the children will do great!  Please remember all children should wear their pajamas for the concert.  
*During the next two weeks we will also be making a special gift for our parents.  No Peeking until Christmas :).

In the sensory tub there will be wrapping paper and fancy scissors to practice our cutting skills.  At the easel there will be red, green, and yellow paint to make Christmas trees.

Doctors & Dentists ~ Our Community Helpers

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed their few days off!  The children were so happy to return today and especially excited about all the snow!  

This week we will be talking all about Community helpers and our letter will be Dd.  If your child brought their rest towel home last week, please remember to return one tomorrow or Wednesday.

Two important papers are coming home this week that need to be returned...
#1: Christmas Concert Invitation ~ please return the bottom portion to let us know if your child will be coming.  Please remember all children are to wear their pajamas to school that day. 

#2: IN School Field Trip ~ We are so excited to have the Morton Arboretum come to St. Linus to do a special winter program with the children.  My class will be going from 10-11am and the teachers from the Morton Arboretum will teach the children about winter and snow!  Please return the in school field trip form and money asap.  Thanks!

The Leaves are Falling!

SXU Speech Lesson:  Last week Graduate students from St. Xavier University came and did a whole group lesson with the class about the letter and theme we are working on.  It is a half hour lesson and the kids love it!  They will be doing a lesson on Monday.

Pumpkin Party ~ Week 2

Pumpkin Party!

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend!  The last two weeks were a lot of fun learning all about apples and the letter Aa.  For the next two weeks we have a new theme and letter, “Pumpkin Party” and the letter Pp.  This week is also Spirit Week!  Under each day I have put the theme for the day.  Preschoolers do not have to participate, but all are welcome to!  Pajama day is always a favorite J.

In the sensory tub there will be fall items and pumpkins for the children to play with.   At the painting easel there is green and orange paint to make pumpkins.

School Spirit Day!

***PUMPKIN PATCH FIELD TRIP***

Today is our pumpkin patch field trip!  We are all so excited and are hoping the weather is nice for it.  Please remember that the entire field trip is outside.

Here are a few reminders for the field trip…

*If your child is here full day or in the morning on Friday please remember to pack a lunch.  We will be eating lunch before leaving for the field trip at 11:30am. 

*If your child does not attend school Friday morning and they are attending the field trip, please have them arrive at 11:15.  The preschool doors will be open.

*If you are chaperoning the field trip, please arrive at the preschool doors at 11:15am.

*We will be on the bus and leaving promptly at 11:30am.

*We are scheduled to return around 2:30pm.  Any child who does not have a chaperone will exit out the preschool doors at 2:35pm unless I have a note saying otherwise.

Apples, Apples, Apples ~ Week 2

We are having so much fun learning about apples and the letter Aa!  This week we will continue learning about apples and the letter Aa.

October~ we are so excited to be in the month of October, the children were so excited to see the Jack-o-Lantern on the calendar this morning for Halloween.  We will go outside this afternoon to take a picture in front of our class tree.  We will try to see if we see any changes from September.

#1: Apple Tasting ~ the children will taste three different types of apples and then color in either a happy or sad face to show if they liked it or not.

Today we will make applesauce in the crock pot!  In the morning we will add all the ingredients and observe it cooking all morning!  In the afternoon we will use our cooked applesauce to taste it and then make mini apple pies!  YUM!

#2: Fun Friday ~ Apple Orchard Free Art ~ the children will use different pieces of paper to create their very own apple orchard.
