We are a Gold school - four times in a row!

We are delighted to announce that St. John's has been recognised as a Gold standard school in the School Games Mark for 2016-2017 academic year for the third year running. We will be going for a fifth gold award and the prestigious platinum award for 2017-18

The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. There are bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark and we have worked very hard to achieve the highest level possible.
The school has proved to excel at delivering high quality P.E, have good links with community clubs and raise standards of P.E by offering a range of sporting opportunities through the below levels of competition:

• Intra-school (Level 1) - sporting competition for all students in school through intra-school competition e.g. house competitions and sports day
• Inter-school (Level 2) - individuals and teams are selected to represent their schools in local inter-school competitions e.g. the range of sporting events we offer within the Beacon cluster of primary school
• School Games Festivals (Level 3) – the county/area will stage multi-sport Sainsbury's School Games Festivals as a culmination of year-round school sport competition e.g. the wealden area events where we have represented Beacon (Crowborough) against other North Wealden areas.

Thank you to all of the staff, children, parents and families for their continued commitment and enthusiasm in PE and Sport.

The School Games is based around 6 key values.

We encourage our children to follow these values, not only in sport, but in everything they do:
