Welcome to D6. My name is Mrs. Marlia Budiongan and this is my 13th year teaching middle school Social Studies at St. Hugo of the Hills School. I have lived in Michigan for 20 wonderful years and have grown to call this my home. Before moving here, I lived in Florida, New York, Virginia, and South Carolina, while my husband served in the United States Navy. Before that, I lived in San Diego, California, where I grew up. You will find that I absolutely LOVE St. Hugo of the Hills School. My three children are St. Hugo alumni and were beyond prepared for high school, not only in academics, but also as members of their communities. The sense of community, the spirit of giving and helping others, and excellence in education are what make our students and families - past and present - proud to be St. Hugo Vikings. Finally, you will find that I love Social Studies, especially learning about other cultures and the interactions among people. We have so much to learn and gain from our fabulously diverse world! I am eager to hear your thoughts and opinions and learn more about you as we begin our awesome two-year journey through history. As always, blessings in abundance! PAX!

The mission of St. Hugo of the Hills School is to provide students with an educational environment in which the teachings of the Catholic faith are instilled, nurtured and demonstrated. These teachings constitute an integral part of the school’s academic program and the St. Hugo school community. Strengthened by the values inherent in these teachings, students and staff are challenged to live with the conviction that,as followers of Jesus, It Must Be Different With Us
