HM 216 A - Seminar in Food Writing
In this workshop, a range of food writing from memoir and personal essays to more journalistic profiles and reviews will be explored. Published works by noted food writers including MFK Fisher, Elizabeth David, and John Thorne will be used as models of craft and style. Drawing on the setting of Sterling College with its working farm and the surrounding area of Craftsbury for inspiration, participants will have the chance to write both in and outside of class, revising their work with feedback from the group. Students should expect to be workshopped one to two times over the course of the session.
