Description

By tracing threads between ecologies of knowing and our understanding of both the ways we learn about and engage with the world around us, this course will challenge students to use writing as a tool to make tangible connections between idea, action, and place.

In this context, we will focus on strengthening our written and spoken voices, writing daily, crafting four longer essays in a variety of genres, and revising each as we work through multiple drafts. Reading a variety of published essays and book excerpts will help us consider different approaches and styles. A final project will draw on skills we have developed all semester, culminating in a product that will be presented to a broader audience.
