Sixth Grade

St. Dominic 6th Grade with Mrs. Parrott

Today the 6th Grade began the Junior Achievement Program for Biztown. This is an awesome opportunity for our kids to learn about business and the economy. I want to give a special THANK YOU to Mr. Scott Davis from Little Jess Jeep. Mr. Davis has volunteered to teach the JA program to our class. Without him, this opportunity would not be possible.

PS. Thank you, Mr Davis, for the chicken nuggets you brought for the class! You sure know the way to our hearts!

Escape Case Activity! The 6th Grade used teamwork, problem solving skills and critical thinking to open the escape case! We had so much fun. There was a treat hidden inside!

Happy St. Nick Day! The 6th grade is celebrating the day with a “Coffee Break” (AKA hot cocoa or hot cider.) I love these smiles!

Yoga and Meditation, in the 6th Grade Classroom,

instructed by Emely Rose from The Bodhi Tree Studio in Quincy.

Special thanks to Mary Bockenfeld, Realtor with Zanger and Associates,

for sponsoring this event!

Have you ever seen a real mammoth tooth? We have!

Welcome to Mrs. Parrott’s Web Page!

My name is Jamie Parrott and I teach 6th grade here at St. Dominic School. I also teach 7th and 8th grade social studies and 7th grade math.

I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work. I eventually realized that education was my future, which led me to earn a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Quincy University. I came to St. Dominic School in 2005 and have truly enjoyed my time in the classroom.

I will be communicating with parents about tests and projects via email and RenWeb. Parents are also welcome to call me with any questions or concerns. My phone number is 217-316-4198.

I love teaching here at St. Dominic School and will continue to do what I can to provide students with the best education possible. I look forward to helping your child grow as a successful Christian.

God Bless!

-Jamie Parrott

6th Grade Class Mission Statement

We, the students in Mrs. Parrott’s 6th grade class, pledge to be

the best Christians we can be. To do this we will follow the 7 Covey Habits, gain as much knowledge as possible, respect those around us and always ask ourselves “What would Jesus do?”
