  • A SPECIAL SALUTE TO OUR VETERANS The kindergarten -8th grade students of St. Dominic School will be presenting a special Veteran's Day Program on Monday, November 12 at 6:30 in the school gym.  Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and student should be in their classrooms by 6:15 p.m.  We are asking the students to wear a nice red, white or blue shirt with nice jeans, slacks or skirt. We would also like to ask parents to bring a red, white or blue or Patriotic themed treat (or other treats) to share afterward!  Please feel free to invite your special Veterans! There will also be a 1:30 afternoon matinee for those who are unable to attend the evening ...

  • DONATIONS FOR PTO SOUP SUPPER: The PTO is requesting donations for basket raffle items for the soup supper being held on Monday, November 19th.  The basket raffle helps fund the PTO supporting four of our school families. Any item or basket donated should be new items. Please send your donation to the school office by Friday, November 16th.  Please contact Holly Kasparie at 217-440-8835 with any questions.

  • TOILETRIES DRIVE: The FOUND Youth Group, made up of students from our Catholic parishes, is collecting toiletry items for people in need in our community.  They are collecting the following items: toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, feminine products, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, dental floss, aftershave, lotion, and pocket size tissues.  Items may be dropped off at school.  There will be a box labeled “Toiletries Drive” in the entrance of our school (near the office).   All donations should be turned in by Friday, November 16th.  Our school coordinator is 8th grader Ryan Scheuermann.

  • STUDENT-LED PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE: We are holding Kindergarten through 8th grade student-led parent/teacher conferences next Wednesday and Thursday at scheduled times.  Students are to be in attendance since they will take part in the conference this year sharing information with their parents on their goals, successes, areas to work on, etc.  Conferences are scheduled every 15 minutes, and the bell will ring to schedule that the conference time period is over. Please help us stay on schedule for the conferences that follow you.  If you need additional time with your child’s teacher, please make arrangements for more time at a later date.

  • FALL FUNDRAISER ITEMS PICKUP FALL FUNDRAISER ITEMS PICKUP will also take place during the conference in the main entryway of the school.  All items will be available for pickup on Wednesday and Thursday during conferences.  Please stop by the main entrance after your scheduled conference(s) to pick up your items.  If you try to pick up your items at a different time, it is not guaranteed that they will be able to get them off the truck for you as they are stored according to individual conference times.

  • FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT BOOK PROJECT: Our school is receiving monthly books to send home to our school families to read with their children.  The books will be sent home with individual students in the primary grades during the month in a plastic envelope that includes a list of activities that go along with the book and a flyer of information on how to view the story on YouTube.  After you read the book, please sign the enclosed sheet with your family name and date, and return it to your child’s teacher. The book will then be sent home with another child in the class.

  • ADAMS COUNTY HCE KIDDIE BAZAAR Will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1st, at Salem Church Hall, 9th & State.  Kids in K-5th grade shop with chaperones to surprise everyone on their list.  All items 50-cents to $4.00. No pre-registration necessary. See the attached flyer for more details.
