  • Owl Pellets Today the children were introduced to owl pellets.  They will be dissecting them in the lab next Wednesday as part of our food web unit.  It is a wonderful experience for them.  The pellet is completely sanitized and safe to use.  The children will find the bones of the animals the owl has eaten in the pellet.  They will be taking them home and reconstructing the skeleton of the rodent that the owl has eaten.  There is an interactive website I would like them to go on to practice a "virtual dissection".  We introduced it in the lab today.  The site is:  http://kidwings.com/virtual-pellet/.   Your child should practice assembling bones (click on "labels on" when doing this
