Scholarships
Local Scholarships will added as they are received. Local Scholarships are not typically available until 2nd semester of the student's senior year. There are a few available in the fall and will be added as they are received.
Scholarships for 2018-19:
- Staunton Clinic Scholarship- this is a merit based scholarship for students pursuing a career in healthcare.
- Elbon Shrine Club Scholarship Eligible students must be an active with charitable organizations and plan to enter the health care field or education.
- Knights of Columbus Jospeh Spernoga Memorial Scholarship- All SHS seniors are eligible to apply
- Lois McBride Memorial Scholarship- Seniors who are anticipated to graduate from Staunton High School in May 2019 and participated in athletics while enrolled at SHS are eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application and the additional essays and recommendation.
- Trooper Kyle Deatherage Memorial Scholarship- Seniors who will be studying criminal justice are eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application.
- St. Clair Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship- Any senior who plans to study engineering is eligible.
- Staunton Chamber of Commerce Scholarship- Any senior with a GPA of 3.0 or above is eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship

- Criminal Justice Scholarship- Any senior who plans to major in criminal justice or a related field is eligible.
- Zion Lutheran School Scholarship- Any senior who graduated from Zion Lutheran School in Staunton, IL is eligible.
- SHS Academic Merit Scholarship- Any senior who plans to purse a degree in a medical field or engineering.
- SHS Technology Scholarship- Any senior who plans to pursue a degree in technology is eligible.
- SHS Sports Booster Club Scholarship- Any senior who has lettered in at least one SHS Booster recognized high school sport during his/her senior year.
- Staunton Education Foundation Scholarship- Any senior with a "C" or better GPA is eligible. Students must submit page 1 of the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- Tori Carroll Memorial Scholarship- Any senior with a 2.0 GPA or better is eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- George Oehler Jr. Memorial Scholarship sponsored by: Staunton American Legion Post No. 362- Financial need is the primary criteria for eligibility. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- Lions Club of Staunton Scholarship- Financial need is the primary criteria for eligibility. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- Local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship- Any senior with a valid hunting license is eligible
- Staunton First United Baptist Church Scholarship- Students planning to attend a vocational/trade school or community college and who have a GPA between 2.0-3.25 are eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- Jaguar Jr Football Touchdown Club Scholarship- Individual must have completed all years eligible to play Jaguar Football and SHS Football to be eligible
- Opaa! Food Management Inc. Kenneth L. Short memorial scholarship- Graduating high school seniors from a school district currently served by Opaa! are eligible.
- Staunton Fire Protection District Scholarship- Students with current or future ties to the SFPD are eligible. Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application. Make sure to fill out the additional needed information for this scholarship
- Patrick B. Heise Memorial Healthcare Scholarship- Students enrolling in a health care field are eligible- Students must submit the SHS Common Local Scholarship application as well as the documents detailed within the scholarship cover page.
- Kathryn G Hansen Scholarship application- Students who have a strong commitment to pursuing a higher education in an office professional, secretarial, or business-related field within the State of Illinois with preference given to attendance at the University of Illinois are eligible.
- Heneghan and Associates Scholarship- Students who are in the process of enrolling in either a Civil-Engineering or Surveying higher education program are eligible.
- Migratory Waterfowl Hunters Scholarship- Students with an interest in Science, Biology, Conservation, and/or related field are eligible
- Bob Price Memorial Scholarship- Students with a career choice in Criminal Justice, Fire Science, or Public Safety are eligible.
- Macoupin County Agriculture Education Foundation Scholarship- Students majoring in agriculture are eligible
- Illinois Valley Economic Development Scholarship- must be income-eligible according to current poverty income guidelines
- Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women- Cathloic Senior Girls are eligible
- Beta Sigma Psi National Lutheran Fraternity- Lutheran males are eligible
- Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship- based on financial need
- Midwest Member Credit Union- Must be a member of credit union
- Delbert W Stiegemeier Scholarship- Seniors who plan to enroll in a vocational education/ trade school program are invited to apply. Use the SHS Common Scholarship form to apply.
- Jamie Jo Broderick Fernandez Scholarship- Any senior planning to go into Education is eligible to apply. Use the SHS Common Scholarship form, but make sure you also see the cover page detailing the additional essay.
- 3M Firefighters' Association Scholarship- Eligible students must be currently pursuing or planning to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies, a certification program or job skills training at an accredited institution in the fire service field
- ISCA Scholarship- Students who will be completing high school in 2019 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship
- Carlinville Area Hospital Scholarship- Any high school student graduating in 2019 from Macoupin County, Illinois who is accepted to an accredited college or university with the intention of entering a hospital related health care career.

- MJM Scholarship- For high school seniors who are the sons or daughters of an MJM member and are planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, community college, or vocational/technical school.
- Worden Sons of the American Legion Post #564 Scholarship - available to high school students and home-schooled students whose parents, grandparents, or legal guardians have served in the United States Armed Forces and who have been honorably discharged, who intend to continue their education as a four year college or university, community college, or trade school, and who reside in Worden, Hamel, Prairietown, Carpenter or Holiday Shores.

- Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship- Must have participated in one sport and have a 3.0 or better GPA

- Stokes Educational Scholarship Program- students (particularly minority students) planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering.

- Macoupin County Agriculture Education Foundation Scholarship Fund- To be eligible for a scholarship, one must be a high school senior graduating in the Spring; or a current College Freshman, Sophomore or Junior enrolled in an Illinois junior college, college, university or trade school and majoring in agriculture.
