selected Barbara Grossman as Administrator for its Veterans Community Living Center (VCLC) in Rifle.
Grossman started her new position in late November. She has worked in the Grand Junction and Western Slope area for most of her career in both human services and health care, and has extensive experience in case management, hospital discharge planning, Adult Protective Services (APS), and skilled nursing administration.
Grossman recently had the opportunity to work in several western states as a licensed administrator in skilled nursing facilities. Her passion to return to home to western Colorado – and specifically to Garfield County – affords her the opportunity to become rooted, once again, in both Rifle and other Western Slope communities.
As Administrator at Veteran’s Community Living Center‐Rifle, Barbara is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and controlling all operations of the 89‐bed Veterans Community Living Center.
“We are excited to have Barbara serve in this role at Rifle,” said Mark Wester, Director for CDHS’ Office of Community Access and Independence, which oversees the VCLCs.
“Her previous experience as an administrator will lead our Rifle team to continue to provide exemplary care for Colorado’s veterans and deliver services with honor and respect to service members who have given so much.”
Grossman is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. She received her bachelor’s Degree from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood and a master’s in Human Services in Healthcare Administration from Capella University, based in Minneapolis, Minn.
