DENVER (April 11, 2016) – Tony Gherardini has been promoted to Director of the Office of Administrative Solutions for the Colorado Department of Human Services effective immediately, Executive Director Reggie Bicha announced Monday.

Gherardini has served as the OAS interim director for the last six weeks. OAS is responsible for the internal operations of CDHS and includes oversight of Employee Relations, Business Technology, Facilities Management, and Finance and Accounting.

He replaces Susan Beckman, who left in February to pursue other professional interests.

“Tony quickly established himself at the Department as a key sounding board on a variety of complex issues,” Bicha said. “His calm, thoughtful approach to providing practical solutions and consistent professionalism will augment an already strong management team.”

Gherardini started at the Department in June 2014 as Emergency Manager. He worked in that role to establish continuity of operations and serve as the lead on emergency preparedness activities.

“I’m thrilled to be included in the Executive Management of such a dedicated and professional organization,” Gherardini said. “I’m greatly looking forward to contributing to CDHS in the coming years and am committed to providing the highest level of operational support to all of the Department’s programs.”

Prior to joining CDHS, Gherardini was a member of the City of Lakewood Police Department, including two years as a detective in the Crimes Against Children Unit. He is a veteran, having served in Afghanistan from 2010-11 as a military police officer. Gherardini currently serves as a Captain in the Army National Guard.

Gherardini holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and a bachelor’s in Political Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
