May 11, 2015 (Denver, Colorado) Colorado parents can now make child support payments with debit and credit cards, online and on mobile devices.
The change, implemented in March, is the result of a partnership between the Division of Child Support Services and Value Payment Systems, a private vendor, to better meet the needs of parents and help get financial support to children quicker. Now parents can save time by paying child support electronically, 24 hours a day, and from the convenience of their own home.
“We’re excited to be able to provide this new service to Colorado’s parents and kids,” said Larry Desbien, Director of the Division of Child Support Services.
In the first two months since the program has been in place, users have made roughly 1,800 payments for a total of nearly $700,000 in child support. In addition, roughly half of all credit card payments were made via mobile applications.
