CDHS Selects Deputy Director for Office of Economic Security

July 31, 2015 (Denver) – The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) has selected Barry Pardus as its newest Deputy Director of the Office of Economic Security.

Pardus brings more than three decades of experience in state government and the private sector to his new role with CDHS. His experience outside government includes consulting for Booz Allen Hamilton and working for Coors Brewing Co. as a senior budget analyst. Pardus’ experience as a public employee includes time with the Colorado Department of Corrections, having served in various roles there since 2003, as well as the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting.

Pardus holds a MBA in Management and Finance degree from the University of St. Thomas and a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Winona State University.

As the deputy director for the Office of Economic Security, Pardus will assist Office Director Levetta Love in managing one of Colorado’s most invaluable service delivery missions. The office oversees Child Support Services, Colorado Works, Energy Assistance, Food Distribution, Food & Nutrition, and Refugee Services.

“We’re excited to welcome Barry to the team,” said Love. “His combination of private and public sector experience will help us achieve our goals of providing essential economic assistance to those Coloradans who need it most,” added Love. 

Pardus begins his new duties Monday, Aug. 3.
