August 19, 2015 (Denver) - The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) recognized the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services on Aug. 18, for its performance in delivering high quality human and health services during 2014.

CDHS Executive Director Reggie Bicha delivered a plaque to the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services Director Cheryl Ternes for "C-Stat Distinguished Performance" during an award presentation at the Arapahoe County Human Services offices.

C-Stat is the Department’s performance management strategy that tracks more than 100 measures in real time across all programs in an effort to improve outcomes for all Coloradans. Counties are assessed on 21 performance measures. The Arapahoe County Department of Human Services was a top performer for the state, exceeding its goal of processing 95 percent of new adult financial application in a timely manner for the last 12 consecutive months.

“Arapahoe County has demonstrated that using timely data results in meaningful differences for the people in their community,” said Bicha.

Timely processing of new adult financial applications ensures eligible Coloradans have access to needed financial assistance. For Arapahoe County, this means reducing the likelihood of people in the community going hungry.

The Arapahoe County Department of Human Services’ outstanding performance is in keeping with the Colorado Department of Human Services’ mission: to design and deliver high quality human and health services that improve the safety, independence, and well-being of the people of Colorado.
